The Floating Hospital is a Federally Qualified Health Center and the largest provider to homeless families living in family shelters and domestic violence safe houses throughout all five boroughs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Patient Care:

• Assist the Optometrist with patient care and eye examinations including (Optical Coherence Tomography) OCT scanning.
• Screen patients and take medical history.
• Administer eyedrops as directed by the Optometrist.
• Provide patient education.
• Assist with scheduling.
• Clean, sanitize, and properly maintain equipment and exam rooms.
• Other duties as assigned.

Schedule:

Monday 8am-6pm

Tuesday 9am-7pm

Wednesday 8am-6pm

Thursday 8am-5pm

Prior experience as an Optometric Technician preferred; strong attention to detail required; must be able to multitask; must have experience with EMR software; possess a pleasant demeanor and positive attitude when interacting with patients and staff; bi-lingual Spanish speaking required.
