Who We Are Looking For:
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Summer Intern who is eager to gain hands-on experience in security systems installation and project coordination. The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in technology, construction, or project management, along with a willingness to learn, work collaboratively, and contribute in a fast-paced field environment.
What you will be doing as a Special Systems Summer Intern
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist technicians with mounting and positioning cameras
- Support cable pulling, routing, and basic terminations
- Inventory and stage equipment prior to installation
- Follow installation checklists, site plans, and engineering designs
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Adhere to safety standards and site protocols
Project Management Exposure & Responsibilities:
- Support project kickoff activities, including site readiness and material verification
- Assist in tracking daily progress against project schedules and milestones
- Update task completion and field notes in project tracking tools (e.g., Smartsheet or similar)
- Help identify and communicate risks, delays, or site constraints to the project team
- Participate in daily or weekly project check-ins with field leads and project managers
- Support quality assurance by validating installations against design standards and scope
- Assist with project closeout activities, including documentation, punch lists, and final site cleanup
Required education, technical skills, and/or experience:
- Interest in technology, construction, project management, or physical security systems
- Ability to work outdoors and on active job sites
- Comfortable using basic hand tools
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Reliable transportation and punctuality
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly
- Comfortable working on ladders and at heights
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods
- Capable of working in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, wind)
- Ability to safely use basic tools and equipment
TRAVEL:
Travel is occasionally required for this position. Must have a valid driver’s license and motor vehicle insurance.
