Coordinates recruiting processes for full-time faculty and staff, including developing new sourcing strategies and techniques to ensure the operational effectiveness of meeting recruiting goals and objectives. This position works with search committees on hiring procedures, ensures campus policies regarding hiring and employment are followed, and facilitates the pre-hire process for new full-time hires
  • Coordinate recruitment needs for full-time faculty & staff positions. This includes:
    • Meeting strategic plan initiatives regarding recruitment of quality faculty & staff.
    • Manage NEOED recruitment process (screening/interviewing steps, ensuring scores can be input, committee access, etc.)
    • Overseeing search committee and diversity advocate trainings.
    • Overseeing assessment of recruitment practices, employment/hiring processes, etc.
    • Assisting with candidate campus visits and training/facilitating applicant travel.
  • Work with search committee chairs to create job announcements for advertising and ensure approvals for advertising occur. Distribute job posting information to campus community, as well as local, regional, national, and international advertising locations. Identify new sourcing strategies and techniques to ensure operational effectiveness in meeting recruiting goals and objectives.
  • Maintain and oversee the university's Applicant Tracking System (ATS), including training other employees on its use, attending conferences to ensure best practices, and make continuous adjustments to the ATS configuration to ensure a smooth hiring and onboarding process.
  • Facilitate the pre-hire process for new full-time hires coming to campus, including pre-hire and other employment paperwork. Work with other HR staff to coordinate payroll information for new hires each pay period.
  • Advise employees on hiring and employment policies and procedures; resolve issues within the parameters of applicable policies and employment law.
  • Assist the HR Director with various strategic initiatives and reporting related to faculty & staff recruitment, employment, diversity and inclusion, EEOC/Affirmative Action, etc.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor part-time student employees (work-study and/or interns) in recruitment duties and responsibilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree in related field required.
  • Two years' related experience required; experience working with a higher education environment and/or specifically in higher education recruiting preferred.
  • Experience with applicant tracking/employment processes, including knowledge of principles, practices, and standards of hiring and knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding affirmative action and equal opportunity. Experience with E-Verify program and associated HR pre-hire paperwork preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, including database, spreadsheet, internet, and email.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in working with students, faculty, staff, and the public.
  • Ability to concentrate on detailed projects during numerous interruptions by telephone or email in order to meet search committee expectations and deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills.
  • Experience with new employee set-up and maintenance using a Human Resources Information System (HRIS); experience using Banner (University's HRIS) preferred.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and enforce hiring policies and procedures to maintain compliance with campus policy and procedure, as well as maintain compliance with local and national employment laws.
