About This Position
Job description
House of Rental is a full service Party, Event & Tent Rental company. Established in 1969. We are looking for a person with sales and customer service experience for our sales representative position. This position involves heavy phone contact with regard to party rental equipment and customer showroom appointments.
Experience with event planning, catering or rental industry preferred but not required

Responsibilities:
You are responsible for phone sales & proposals, customer pre-event planning, order management. The successful candidate:
Prepare proposals and rental contract
Rent equipment or arrange for provision of service to customers.
Maintain daily call list & follow up with customers and quotes
Prepare Proposals & Job Costing. Compute charges based on rental and labor rates.
Explain rental fees and provide information about rented items, such as operation or description.
Collect deposit or payment, or record credit charges by maintaining customer charge file daily
and balancing daily sales receipts.
Answer telephone and process phone orders. We have lots of phone calls!
Recommend rental equipment to customers that best meets their needs.
Reserve equipment as requested and maintain the rental reservation file.
Update and call the overdue list daily and alert supervisor of overdue contracts.
Fill in for other positions, when necessary, for smooth operation of the business.
Services and maintains assigned customer accounts
Prepares and delivers presentations to decision makers and event committees
Consults with clients to determine event details
Identifies targeted client prospects. Assists Events Manager with customer showroom appointments and phone orders
Who we are looking for:
3 years successful phone sales, customer service, or related sales experience
Must have a High School diploma or equivalent. College coursework is preferred.
Ability to prioritize and leverage resources successfully
Detail oriented
Must have exceptional communication, prospecting, presentation and phone skills
Displays self-discipline, maturity, competitiveness, good business and work ethics.
Ability and commitment to learn a vast product offering
Account management and new business development experience with revenue responsibility preferred
A clear understanding of the demands and pressures required to succeed in a service intensive business
A professional attitude/demeanor, and a strong work ethic
A genuine concern for and commitment to the success of the company and customers
Strong interpersonal & organizational skills with a respect and focus on quality
Must be able to work Saturday
Our ideal candidate would have party planning experience and/or event management experience.
We will train the right person for the job.
