About This Position
Job Purpose:
The Human Resources Generalist at GMH Associates plays a vital role in supporting daily HR operations while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. This position provides comprehensive support to the Senior Vice President of Human Resources across benefits administration, compensation, employee relations, payroll, recruiting, and HRIS functions.
Essential Job Functions
- Provide ongoing assistance and administrative support to the SVP, HR
- Administer and maintain all employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k), and FMLA.
- Support policy and procedure compliance throughout the organization.
- Serve as a backup for bi-weekly payroll processing for multiple entities using ADP Workforce Now, ADP Run, and related platforms.
- Manage new hire data entry and bi-weekly updates within ADP HRIS, including employment verifications.
- Support employee communications regarding benefit plans and enrollment.
- Assist as a backup for offer letter creation, background checks, and onboarding processes.
- Respond to employment-related inquiries from candidates, employees, and supervisors, referring sensitive matters to senior HR staff when necessary.
- Maintain current knowledge of employment law, HR trends, and technology updates.
- Support HR special projects and initiatives as assigned.
- Assist with onboarding for new hires and offboarding for departing employees.
- Perform additional duties and tasks as needed.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with HRIS/payroll platforms.
- Ability to learn company systems and tools quickly, including ADP platforms.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of one year of HR Generalist experience supporting multi-state operations.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now and ADP Time & Attendance required; ADP Run experience preferred.
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Regular use of hands for office equipment, phones, and computer work.
- Frequent sitting and standing while performing clerical tasks and maintaining files and records.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds of office materials.
- Extended periods of desk work and computer use.
- Occasional travel within the company footprint.
Work Environment
Work is performed primarily in a professional office setting. The Human Resources Generalist interacts frequently with internal staff, third-party vendors, and service providers during regular business hours.
