Veterinary Technician Specialist, Anesthesia and Analgesia | $35–$45/hr
Location: Woburn, MA
Schedule: Full-Time | Three 12-hour shifts per week
Compensation: $35–$45/hour + On-Call Compensation

Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital in Woburn, MA is hiring a Veterinary Technician Specialist in Anesthesia and Analgesia to join our 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital.

As a Level 1 Emergency & Critical Care specialty animal hospital, Mass Vet offers advanced medicine, high-acuity cases, and the opportunity to use your training while supporting exceptional patient care, technician mentorship, and clinical growth.

Compensation

  • $35–$45/hour based on experience and credentials
  • Additional compensation for voluntary overnight anesthesia on-call responsibilities

Schedule
  • Three 12-hour shifts per week
  • Rotating weekend shifts required
  • Full-time schedule
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement anesthetic plans for specialty and critical care patients
  • Prepare patients for anesthesia, induction, and intubation
  • Monitor anesthesia during orthopedic, soft tissue, thoracic, neurologic, and ophthalmic procedures
  • Perform advanced technical skills including:
    • Venipuncture
    • Arterial catheter placement
    • Local blocks and epidurals
  • Provide post-operative recovery monitoring and patient care
  • Collaborate closely with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and specialty teams across the hospital
  • Support technician training and mentorship
  • Participate in voluntary overnight anesthesia on-call rotation
  • Deliver exceptional patient care while maintaining strong communication with the clinical team
Qualifications
  • VTS (Anesthesia & Analgesia) required
  • Strong critical thinking and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced specialty veterinary hospital environment
  • Positive, collaborative, team-oriented mindset
  • Fluent English speaking and reading skills required
