Job Description

Position Title: Sr. FP&A Analyst

Department: Finance

Classification: Exempt

Reports To: Director of FP&A and Accounting

Location: Ontario, California


GS Foods is seeking a Sr. FP&A Analyst to be responsible for aiding in all analysis & support for the Sales and Operations teams and for ALL locations nationwide for the private equity-backed GS Foods Group, Inc. and its subsidiaries (“GS Foods” or the “Company”) located in Ontario, California. GS Foods is a leading specialty food distributor serving primarily K-12 schools in addition to other specialized end markets.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Manage monthly budget vs actuals reporting and variance analytics for Senior Leadership Team.Overseeing day-to-day financial activities.Support Finance Manager on financial analysis to support the operations organization to understand location level profitability, determine on-going value creation initiatives (including size of prize scoping and tracking of results) and performance against warehouse and transportation KPIsFinancial analysis to support the organization to understand location level profitability, determine on-going value creation initiatives (including size of prize scoping and tracking of results).Partner with Sales and Operations leaders to provide inputs into the annual budgeting process for SG&A and Operational Expenses.Support key functions in monthly & annual forecasting/budget process.Prepares weekly sales and margin flash.Prepare monthly PVM reporting and analysis.Ability to identify trends and discern root cause from large sets of data using creative solutions.Monthly preparation of MOR and BOD reporting decks.Working with the accounting team on intercompany reconciliations and ensuring completeness during month end.Perform weekly and monthly spend analytics and develop forecasts for IT expenditures.Support the FP&A Manager of Operations in KPI reporting and analytical deep dives.Monthly analysis on inventory and freight analytics.Assist with special projects as requested and prepare ad hoc analysis as necessaryAbility to work effectively independently and work under deadlines.
Follow all company policies and procedures.


Essential for Success:

Proficient in Microsoft Office, primarily excel.Communicating clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.Strong ability to multi-task and excel under pressure.10-key by touch.Detail oriented.Excellent time management and organizational skills.Accounting, Foodservice and or Microsoft NAV experience a plus.

GS Foods has nineteen distribution facilities nationwide. No travel will be expected in the role.

Work Environment:

Professional office and warehousing/distribution environment. Performance of this position will occasionally require exposure to the warehouse areas where, under certain areas, the use of personal protection equipment will be required. Floors may be wet and slippery when in frozen or refrigerated areas. Primary office environment is ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment. Intermittent travel and full-time office presence are required.
