Distribution Line Engineer / Technician at CDG Engineers, Inc. – Saint Louis, Missouri

As a Distribution Line Engineer/Technician, you will play a key role in determining the right of way requirements, calculate conductor sags and develop distribution line plan and profile drawings. You will direct the survey crew and develop line routing as well as provide construction support, develop staking sheets, and distribution line plan and profile drawings.

Requirements for the role:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Civil, or Structural) OR equivalent experience of 5+ years without a degree.
• Proficiency in PLS-CADD / CAD software.
• Proficiency in applying NESC standards to ensure safe and compliant overhead distribution line designs.
• Previous experience applying traditional and software-based methods to design distribution lines and structures up to 69 KV.
• Experience calculating conductor tension, sag, and structural loading for various environmental and operational conditions.
• Experience selecting structures and structural components and appropriate guying methods, grounding systems, and structural components based on mechanical and electrical requirements.
• Strong communication skills.
