We are seeking a creative, strategic, and collaborative Social Media & Marketing Manager to join our team. In this role, you will lead social media strategy, paid and organic campaign execution, and community management across all Retail Group brand and event channels.
You will serve as the subject matter expert for both organic content and paid social media, partnering closely with event marketing and Retail Group marketing teams to build brand awareness, drive audience engagement, generate leads, and increase event registrations. You'll oversee paid social budgets, performance analytics, and ROI reporting while playing a key role in the Social Ambassador Program, managing influencer and creator recruitment, contracting, campaign execution, and payments in collaboration with the Marketing Director.
In addition, you will support event and brand marketing initiatives through integrated omni-channel campaigns, onsite activations, and client marketing programs, helping to deliver a consistent and impactful brand experience across all touchpoints.
This role will split their time between our Rutherford, New Jersey or New York City office (2 days) and working remote (3 days). Flexibility is provided.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the development and execution of social media strategy across organic and paid channels
- Plan, execute, and optimize paid social campaigns across Meta, LinkedIn, and TikTok, including audience targeting, budget allocation, and bid strategy
- Create, curate, and execute organic posts across Instagram, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Facebook
- Monitor social channels for trends, conversations, and brand mentions; engage with followers and build community. Answer DMs, inMail and Facebook messages on brand and event channels
- Plan, recruit for, and manage communications for Social Ambassador Programs, working with the Marketing Director
- Attend events and Social Ambassador FAMs onsite to manage social posting and liaise with clients
- Track and report ROI and ROAS across paid and organic campaigns; adjust strategy based on performance
- Schedule and publish posts using social media management tools
- Manage procurement, contracting, and payment for Social Creators
- Create social media strategy and materials for FAM participants, including paid amplification for clients following FAMs
- Collect materials from and communicate directly with clients to execute sponsored social programs
- Stay current on platform trends and best practices; recommend platform fit against brand goals
- Build and manage private Facebook groups for event attendees to create engagement, gather success stories, and answer questions
- Create materials and use software to help attendees, speakers and exhibitors promote attendance at events
- Travel up to 25% of the time, both domestically and internationally, including approximately one trip per month lasting up to one week and occasional weekend travel
Must-Haves: The Essentials for Success:
- 4-5 years of experience managing social media for a brand, business, agency, or media company, including hands-on execution of paid social campaigns
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and executing both organic social media strategies and paid social campaigns
- Hands-on experience with Meta Ads Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, and TikTok Ads Manager
- Proficiency in audience targeting, campaign optimization, social media analytics, and ROI/ROAS reporting
- Experience managing paid media budgets, external vendors, influencers, or creator partnerships
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practices
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and social media management tools
- Strong graphic design and visual storytelling skills
- Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, grammar, and communication skills
- Creative, strategic, and data-driven mindset with strong attention to detail
- Superior project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and client service skills

- Experience in the travel, hospitality, events, or media industry
- Experience with Sprout Social
- Experience managing influencer, ambassador, or creator marketing programs
- Knowledge of social media advertising attribution and performance measurement

The annual base salary range for this role is $80,000-$85,000 and is commensurate with experience.
