Line Cook (PM only) in Monroe, Louisiana at Bayou Desiard CC

Starting Pay: $10-14

Duties:

- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards

- Assist in menu planning and development

- Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure efficient operations

- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines

- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area

- Monitor inventory levels and communicate any shortages or needs to the supervisor

- Assist with catering events as needed

Qualifications:

- Previous experience as a line cook or in a similar role

- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

- Strong communication and teamwork skills

- Culinary degree or certification is a plus, but not required

- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Skills:

- Menu planning: Experience in assisting with menu planning and development

- Dietary aide: Knowledge of dietary restrictions and ability to accommodate special dietary needs

- Kitchen: Proficient in working in a kitchen environment, including operating kitchen equipment and tools

- Cook: Skilled in preparing and cooking a variety of dishes according to recipes and quality standards

- Food safety: Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices

- Catering: Experience in assisting with catering events, including food preparation and setup

- Culinary: Passion for culinary arts and willingness to learn new techniques and recipes

- Knife skills: Proficient in using knives safely and effectively in food preparation

- Dietary department: Understanding of the role of the dietary department in a food service setting
