Job Description

Building a brand takes more than a great campaign. It takes someone who knows how to connect strategy, creativity, and execution into work that people actually remember.

Smart, Savvy + Associates is pleased to partner with VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation in their search for a Brand Marketing Lead.

This is a newly created role within the Foundation's Marketing & Brand Engagement team and an opportunity to help shape the future of one of BC's most important charitable brands. Reporting to the Director, Marketing & Brand Engagement, you'll lead integrated marketing campaigns, drive brand awareness initiatives, and help bring the Foundation's bold vision for the VGH+ brand to life.

The Foundation has ambitious goals for growth and visibility across British Columbia. As Brand Marketing Lead, you'll develop go-to-market strategies, lead campaign planning and execution, and partner with an in-house team of content, creative, PR, and communications specialists to bring integrated campaigns to life.

This role is ideal for a strategic marketer who enjoys building plans, bringing people together around a common goal, and rolling up their sleeves to make great work happen.

What You'll Do

  • Lead go-to-market planning for major initiatives, campaigns, and announcements
  • Build campaign strategies that connect audience insights, business objectives, and measurable outcomes
  • Ensure marketing initiatives are delivered on time, on budget, and aligned with Foundation goals
Grow and strengthen the VGH+ brand
  • Help advance the Foundation's brand strategy and positioning across British Columbia
  • Identify opportunities to increase awareness and engagement beyond Metro Vancouver
  • Support the continued growth and evolution of the VGH+ brand
  • Ensure consistency across campaigns, channels, and audience touchpoints
Measure performance and optimize results
  • Establish campaign KPIs and performance frameworks
  • Monitor results and translate insights into recommendations and action plans
  • Use data and audience insights to inform future strategy
Lead projects and collaborate across teams
  • Work closely with colleagues across fundraising, communications, content, creative, and leadership teams
  • Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders to align priorities and resources
  • Support annual marketing planning and budgeting activities
Lead and support a growing team
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to marketing team members
  • Foster a collaborative, creative, and high-performing team culture
  • Help establish priorities, processes, and ways of working that support long-term success
What You Bring
  • 8-10 years of progressive marketing experience with a strong foundation in brand and campaign marketing
  • Experience developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns from strategy through execution
  • Strong understanding of brand building, audience engagement, and go-to-market planning
  • Experience managing projects involving multiple stakeholders, timelines, and priorities
  • Comfort using performance metrics and campaign data to evaluate success and guide decision-making
  • Previous people leadership experience, whether through direct management, mentorship, or project leadership
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and willingness to roll up your sleeves when needed
Nice to have:
