As an Inside Salesperson in Building Materials, you are the customer’s first point of contact, responsible for ensuring a positive customer experience.
You will conduct front-counter sales of building materials and assist a broad range of customers and contractors by answering questions and helping toward the best solutions.
Responsibilities & Daily Tasks:
  • Accurately entering orders in the Point of Sale (POS) system
  • Processing sales transactions following Preston Feather policies for pricing, discounts, payment and credit memo terms
  • Assisting with stock receiving, merchandising, and inventory cycle counts
  • Sporadically retrieving materials from yard and loading into customer vehicles, often requiring lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Guide people through sales, orders, and service
  • Partner with sales team on deliveries
  • Sell hardware and handle smaller projects
  • Use Spruce ERP software for orders and payments
  • Schedule vendor meetings

    • Required qualifications
    • Retail or customer service experience strongly preferred
    • Hardware or construction knowledge a plus
    • Prior experience using a POS system, or confidence in learning new technologies
    • A high school diploma or GED
    • Minimum 18 years of age
    All offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a background check (including MVR) and drug screen.
