Job Description

Make an impact supporting the National Institute of Health! Lynch Consultants is seeking a Financial Specialist with a solid understanding of budget formulation and execution, financial analysis, and CIO Management Support Services (CMSS). This is a role for someone who is ready to take on meaningful challenges and make a measurable difference.

Salary: $90,000 - $100,000, commensurate with experience.


Work Location and Schedule:

  • This position is located in Rockville, MD. Associates are required to be on-site at least 2-3 days per week.

Required Qualifications – Must Have:

  • MUST have a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • MUST have at least 6 years of relevant financial management or analytical experience.
  • MUST have intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial formulas.
  • MUST have experience developing financial models and performing budget variance and trend analysis.
  • MUST have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and present complex financial data.
  • MUST have strong written and communication skills, including experience preparing reports, briefings, and presentations for leaderships.
  • MUST have the ability to obtain and maintain an NIH Public Trust background investigation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a federal government contracting environment.
  • Familiarity with NIH, HHS, or broader federal government financial management processes and policies.
  • Experience with Power BI, or similar data visualization and reporting tools.
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management credential is a plus.
  • Experience supporting budget formulation and execution within a government environment.

Skills:

  • Budget formulation and execution, including tracking obligations, expenditures, and projections.
  • Preparing of monthly financial status reports, executive briefings, and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Data analysis and reporting skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
