About the Role:

The Accounting Lead will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the accounting functions within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory standards, and the implementation of effective internal controls. The Accounting Lead will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis that drive strategic decision-making. This role requires a proactive leader who can mentor accounting staff, streamline processes, and enhance the overall efficiency of the accounting department. Ultimately, the Accounting Lead will contribute to the financial integrity and operational success of the organization by delivering timely and precise financial information.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in SAP S/4HANA accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience managing or leading an accounting team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation.
• Experience with manufacturing ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
• Advanced skills in financial analysis and cost accounting.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements specific to the manufacturing sector.
• Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements and accounting automation tools.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and supervise daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and company policies.
• Coordinate and support external audits and tax filings, ensuring all documentation and schedules are complete and accurate.
• Develop and maintain internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and improve financial processes.
• Lead the accounting team by providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations to foster professional growth and high-quality work output.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, procurement, and other departments to align financial reporting with operational activities and cost accounting.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities to support business objectives and growth strategies.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the accounting function to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
• Prepare Multi-State Sales Tax returns.
