Position: Senior Financial Accountant
Reports to: Plant Controller
Location: Newberg, Oregon
JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting through the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, financial analysis, and support of the month-end close process. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across the organization, assist with fixed asset and capital expenditure accounting, support annual audits, and help drive continuous improvement initiatives within both finance and business operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Prepares monthly balance sheet and income statement journal entries
- Reconciles general ledger accounts, including complex and intercompany accounts and collaborates with others to resolve reconciling items as needed
- Supports month-end close process and the timely closing of the books
- Assists with month-end reviews and trend analysis
- Assists with month-end inventory, revenue, and costing reporting
- Researches and analyzes complex financial results, and accounting issues
- Assists with department budget-to-actual expense reviews and related financial discussions
- Assists with operational ad hoc reporting
- Assists in driving departmental process improvements
- Assists in driving operational process improvements
- Supports external auditors by gathering account information and documentation required for the annual audit
- Maintains current knowledge of accounting standards, practices and procedures
- Handles stress in a professional manner, demonstrates the ability to get along with others, demonstrates successful attendance and punctuality, and works overtime / extra hours as required to meet business needs
- Performs other related duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Knowledge of general financial accounting practices
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP)
- Demonstrated ability to perform complex accounting functions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with ERP systems
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
- Minimum five years of progressive accounting experience required
- Manufacturing industry experience highly preferred
- Costing experience highly preferred
