Position Title: Vice President, National Helium Sales
Reports To: CEO
Location: Massachusetts
Supervises: 1-5
Salary Grade: From $180,000
Exemption Classification: Exempt

Summary/Objective
The Vice President, National Helium Sales will lead the commercial strategy, execution, and growth of the American Gas Products, Inc. (“Company”) helium business across the United States. This executive will be responsible for driving sales performance, expanding market share, and developing long-term customer relationships in key segments including semiconductor, aerospace, medical, research, industrial and industrial gas distributor markets. The VP will also work closely with operations, supply chain, and product management to ensure reliable supply, competitive pricing, and customer satisfaction. This role reports to the CEO of American Gas Products, Inc. and has direct reports.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute the national sales strategy for helium, aligned with corporate growth objectives.
- Identify and pursue new market opportunities in high-value sectors.
- Support/refine pricing models, margin management practices, and contract structures that balance profitability with competitiveness.
Sales & Account Management
- Lead, coach, and develop the national helium sales and customer service team.
- Build strong executive-level relationships with key accounts, distributors, and channel partners.
- Negotiate multi-year contracts with major customers and ensure compliance with terms.
- Oversee customer engagement programs to improve retention, cross-selling, and revenue growth.
Market & Business Development
- Monitor global and domestic helium supply/demand trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments.
- Partner with operations and logistics teams to ensure supply reliability and manage allocation in times of shortage.
- Develop strategic partnerships and alliances to expand market presence.
- Support mergers, acquisitions, and JV opportunities tied to the helium value chain.
Financial & Operational Management
- Deliver annual sales and profitability targets.
- Prepare sales forecasts, budgets, and performance reports.
- Ensure effective CRM use (SFDC), pipeline management, and data-driven decision making.
- Align closely with finance, operations, and supply chain leaders to support capital planning and transfill expansions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field; MBA preferred.
- 10–15+ years of progressive sales leadership experience in industrial gases, specialty gases, or related industry.
- Proven track record of negotiating large-scale supply contracts and delivering sales growth.
- Strong knowledge of helium markets, supply chain dynamics, and end-use industries.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to travel nationally and internationally as required.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position is directly or indirectly responsible for the performance management and hiring of all employees within helium sales.
Work Environment
This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computer equipment, phones, scanners, copiers, and fax machines.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job including talking, hearing, and listening; frequent standing, walking, use of hands to fingers, handling or feeling; reaching with hands and arms.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m., generally. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status.
Travel
Regular travel is expected for this position; not expected to exceed 50%.
Required Education, Experience & Certification
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, sales and marketing, or related field preferred. A minimum of five (5) years progressive sales management experience is required.
Work Authorization
Eligibility to work in the U.S. with the appropriate work authorization documentation.
