Role Overview

The Shipping Inspection Technician supports daily manufacturing operations by performing incoming and outgoing visual inspections of hardware and coordinating shipping and receiving activities. This role ensures materials and finishes products are properly identified, free from obvious defects or damage, and accompanied by the required documentation before entering or leaving the facility.

What You'll Do...

  • Perform visual inspections of incoming materials and completed aerospace hardware for obvious defects, damage, cleanliness, and overall condition.
  • Verify part identification, quantities, revisions, and labeling against work orders and shipping documentation.
  • Confirm required documentation, certifications, and traceability records accompany incoming and outgoing products.
  • Report damaged or nonconforming materials to the Operations Supervisor or Quality department.
  • Maintain inspection records in accordance with company procedures.
  • Ensure products are properly packaged and protected prior to shipment.
  • Support inventory accuracy by verifying part counts during inspection activities.

  • High School Diploma
  • Drive and willingness to understand directions and learn quickly
  • Ability to be flexible and deal with changing priorities
  • Must be dependable and reliable
  • Valid driver's license
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. Citizenship is required, as only U.S. Citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Nice to have...

  • Previous experience in a production environment
  • Forklift certification
  • Experience with packaging high value components
  • Experience working in an AS9100 certified or similar environment (ISO, IATF-16949, etc.)

Physical Requirements

  • Remain in a standing or sitting stationary position for 3-4 hours per day (1-2 hours at one time)
  • Move about 5-6 hours per day (1-2 hours at one time)
  • Frequently lift or carry objects between 26 – 45 pounds
  • Frequently push or pull objects between 26-45 pounds
  • Occasionally reach at or below shoulder level and occasionally reach overhead
  • Frequently use hands and fingers to handle or operate objects, tools, or controls
  • Occasionally bend, stoop, or twist
  • Occasionally crouch, kneel, and squat
  • Occasionally operate heavy machinery
  • Frequently keyboard
  • Effectively communicate in person and via telephone or other electronic devices
