Job Description

Director, Sales Operations

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Sales Operations based in United States.

This is a strategic leadership role responsible for building and scaling a modern Sales Operations function within a rapidly growing organization.
You will establish the processes, governance, systems, and operating rhythms needed to support increasingly complex sales activity.
The role has significant influence across forecasting, pipeline management, territory planning, deal governance, CRM, and executive reporting.
You will partner closely with Sales Leadership, Finance, Delivery, Marketing, and Executive stakeholders to connect commercial strategy with operational execution.
Success will require turning complex business data into clear insights, decisions, ownership, and measurable actions.
You will balance speed and structure, introducing practical processes that can evolve as the organization and sales model mature.
The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on, with a strong ability to use technology, automation, analytics, and AI to improve sales productivity and revenue performance.

Accountabilities:
  • Design and build a modern Sales Operations function capable of supporting rapid organizational growth and increasing sales complexity.
  • Establish forecasting governance, pipeline inspection frameworks, CRM standards, territory planning processes, and consistent commercial operating rhythms.
  • Lead initiatives that improve sales productivity, forecast accuracy, operational consistency, and executive visibility into commercial performance.
  • Partner with Sales Leadership, Finance, Delivery, Marketing, Operations, and Executive stakeholders to align business objectives with operational execution.
  • Develop and manage deal desk governance, pricing approvals, commercial exceptions, and sales policy frameworks.
  • Build executive reporting and performance management processes that transform operating data into actionable business decisions.
  • Drive CRM governance, data quality, user adoption, process compliance, and effective use of sales technology.
  • Identify opportunities to automate workflows, reduce administrative effort, improve efficiency, and accelerate decision-making across the sales organization.
  • Build scalable operating models, governance structures, service levels, and operating cadences as the business matures.
  • Improve visibility into pipeline health, sales execution, forecasting, and commercial performance to support sustainable revenue growth.
  • Establish practical minimum viable processes quickly, then continuously refine them using stakeholder feedback, operating data, and measurable outcomes.
  • Influence senior sales leaders while maintaining accountability for standards, deadlines, evidence-based decisions, and process adherence.
  • Build trusted cross-functional partnerships while navigating ambiguity, changing priorities, and complex organizational requirements.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Sales Operations, Commercial Operations, or Sales Strategy & Operations, including meaningful leadership accountability.
  • Demonstrated experience building a Sales Operations function from the ground up or materially transforming an existing function.
  • Direct ownership of sales forecasting, forecast governance, pipeline management, opportunity inspection, stage discipline, and sales data quality.
  • Experience with territory design, account assignment, quota inputs, capacity planning, and sales coverage analysis.
  • Proven experience managing or redesigning deal desk, pricing approval, commercial exception, or broader sales governance workflows.
  • Strong experience with CRM governance and sales technology adoption; Dynamics 365 or OneCRM experience is preferred.
  • Ability to translate complex operating data into executive-level insights, clear recommendations, accountable owners, and actionable plans.
  • Strong track record of delivering measurable operational improvements in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.
  • Ability to balance operational control with business agility and establish governance without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
  • Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and collaborate effectively across functions.
  • Entrepreneurial, analytical, and growth-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Experience leveraging automation, analytics, AI, and technology to simplify Sales Operations and improve decision quality.

Preferred:

  • Experience in professional services, consulting, technology services, SaaS, or the Microsoft partner ecosystem.
  • Experience supporting complex, multi-industry, or matrixed sales organizations.
  • Familiarity with MEDDPICC or another evidence-based opportunity qualification methodology such as BANT, SPICED, or CHAMP.
  • Experience with Power BI, Power Platform, sales workflow automation, and AI-enabled Sales Operations.
  • Experience building and leading a small team while remaining hands-on during the initial development and scaling of the function.

Benefits:

  • Competitive compensation with a performance-based bonus.
  • Generous paid time off.
  • Flexible and affordable employee benefits designed to support health and well-being.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Flexible Spending Account and Health Reimbursement Account options.
  • 401(k) plan with company match.
  • Opportunity to work alongside enthusiastic and collaborative teammates in a dynamic, growing environment.
