Job Description

The Heavy Maintenance Scheduler supports aircraft maintenance operations by coordinating and scheduling maintenance activities, managing maintenance records and technical documentation, and ensuring the accuracy of aircraft configuration and maintenance data. This role partners with cross-functional teams to support regulatory compliance, fleet readiness, and the efficient execution of maintenance programs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor aircraft and component data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity, notifying management of factors affecting aircraft health or airworthiness.
  • Collect, analyze, and prepare reports and briefings using maintenance information system data to support operational decision-making.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the maintenance information system (RAMCO), ensuring proper system utilization, data integrity, and sustainment.
  • Maintain permanent aircraft and component records by verifying maintenance documentation, performing comprehensive record audits, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance and Logistics to schedule maintenance activities, ensure workflow alignment, and confirm parts availability for scheduled and forecasted maintenance.
  • Manage aircraft configuration control by tracking modifications, repairs, and maintenance status, developing implementation plans for fleet-wide modifications as applicable.
  • Create aircraft work packages for heavy maintenance events and update planning trackers to support maintenance planning, material forecasting, and procurement.
  • Track, update, and report aircraft status to leadership, ensuring the timely completion of scheduled maintenance in accordance with applicable flight authority requirements.
  • Assist with management of the TAC Controlled Document Library, including the distribution and maintenance of Technical Orders (TOs) and other controlled maintenance documentation.
  • Support Egress personnel with aircraft configuration control and explosive component documentation.
  • Conduct Compliance Order status reviews and escalate issues requiring leadership attention.
  • Initiate LLP or TBO component extension processes in accordance with the Aircraft Inspection Program (AIP).
  • Create and manage work orders to ensure timely closeout, proper component return to inventory, and accurate maintenance documentation.
  • Track CANN actions, coordinate replacement part orders, and review goods receipts to ensure proper documentation and required ERKs updates.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS

  • Working knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration regulations and Military maintenance reporting procedures.
  • Proven track record of success working on complex assignments requiring considerable judgment, initiative and technical/specialized knowledge.
  • Possesses a strong understanding of aircraft maintenance lifecycle, inspection intervals and discrepancy management.
  • Excellent written and oral presentation of aircraft maintenance and configuration information.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while fostering a positive attitude and maintaining an exceptional level of attention to detail.
  • Must have strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in the English language with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must demonstrate safe and healthy workplace practices.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Must be able to travel within the US and internationally.
  • Must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities of a Heavy Maintenance Scheduler in daily work performance.
  • Must be able to work in various weather environments and conditions.
  • Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) and not be barred from any installation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in aircraft maintenance operations required.
  • Experience with the F-16 platform desired.
  • Experience in production, scheduling, or maintenance analysis is strongly preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time while working at a computer.
  • Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment with standard lighting, noise levels, and climate conditions.
  • This role may be performed around loud noises and hazardous chemicals with exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.
