Grassroots Advocacy Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Grassroots Advocacy Manager based in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to drive meaningful public policy impact by building and strengthening grassroots advocacy networks at the state and federal levels. You will engage communities, empower volunteers, and develop strategic advocacy initiatives that help advance important health and social priorities. Working closely with internal teams, community partners, and policymakers, you will play a key role in mobilizing supporters and amplifying community voices. The position combines relationship building, volunteer leadership, project management, and public engagement within a mission-driven environment. Accountabilities
  • Develop and execute year-round grassroots advocacy strategies at the state and federal levels to support public policy priorities and community engagement objectives.
  • Recruit, train, motivate, and retain advocate volunteers while strengthening the overall advocacy network and increasing community participation.
  • Create and implement volunteer engagement plans that empower individuals to participate effectively in policy advocacy initiatives.
  • Manage local execution of nationwide grassroots advocacy programs while adapting strategies to meet regional needs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with volunteers, community leaders, internal teams, and external partners.
  • Collaborate with government relations teams and local stakeholders to support advocacy campaigns and policy engagement efforts.
  • Coordinate grassroots activities with broader organizational initiatives, events, and community outreach programs.
  • Support planning and execution of advocacy-focused events, including state-level advocacy days and community engagement activities.
  • Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of advocacy activities while maintaining compliance with internal processes and requirements.
  • Participate in major community events and organizational initiatives to strengthen awareness, engagement, and mission impact.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in grassroots advocacy, volunteer engagement, community organizing, public policy, or related fields, preferably within nonprofit or nonpartisan organizations.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing grassroots advocacy strategies and community mobilization initiatives.
  • Strong ability to recruit, train, engage, and maintain relationships with volunteers and community advocates.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and evolving initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in complex, collaborative environments involving multiple teams and community partners.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust, demonstrate diplomacy, and work with diverse populations.
  • Knowledge of aging, healthcare, long-term care, or related public policy issues is preferred.
  • Existing relationships with government stakeholders or community organizations are a plus.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong judgment and initiative.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance required.
