Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Salary: $60,000–$70,000 annually, depending on experience
Reports To: Senior Operations Manager

A&L Foods is looking for a hands-on Shipping Supervisor to lead the daily picking, loading, and shipping operation at our Bensalem distribution center.
This is a player/coach role for someone who can organize a fast-paced outbound operation, keep employees focused on priorities, solve problems before they delay a route, and make sure customer orders leave the warehouse accurately and on time.
You’ll supervise our Shipping Clerks and Loaders/Pickers while working closely with the Inbound Supervisor and Senior Operations Manager to coordinate product availability, dock activity, and daily shipping priorities.
What You’ll Do- Lead and provide daily direction to Shipping Clerks and Loaders/Pickers.
- Build the daily plan for picking, staging, loading, and shipment completion based on route departure times and customer requirements.
- Ensure customer orders are picked and loaded accurately and on time.
- Monitor order progress throughout the day and adjust labor and priorities as needed.
- Coordinate outbound dock appointments and dock activity with the Inbound Supervisor.
- Work with the Inbound Supervisor to make sure required inventory is received, replenished, and available for picking.
- Monitor shortages and incomplete orders and communicate issues before they impact scheduled departures.
- Review and process completed loads for shipment.
- Ensure shipping documentation and load information are completed accurately.
- Ensure proper food safety, trailer temperature, and temperature-monitoring procedures are followed for refrigerated and frozen shipments.
- Maintain a safe, organized shipping dock, staging area, and warehouse work environment.
- Monitor adherence to company safety procedures and proper material-handling practices.
- Train, coach, cross-train, and develop members of the outbound team.
- Communicate performance, attendance, safety, shortage, or operational concerns to the Senior Operations Manager.
- Warehouse, shipping, picking, loading, or distribution experience.
- Previous lead or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- Food, grocery, refrigerated, or frozen distribution experience is a plus.
- Strong organization, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and route departure times in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to order accuracy and loading quality.
- Ability to lead employees while also being willing to jump in and help when needed.
- Comfortable working with warehouse systems and basic computer applications.
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude.
- Strong customer service mindset.
You’ll help create an outbound operation where orders are picked accurately, shortages are identified early, loads are completed correctly, and trucks leave on time—while developing a productive, accountable, and safety-focused warehouse team.
This position provides day-to-day supervision, coaching, training, and work direction.
