Global Head of Procurement

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Global Head of Procurement based in United States.

This is a senior procurement leadership opportunity focused on building and scaling a modern global procurement function within a high-growth SaaS environment.
You will own the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, from strategic sourcing and supplier management through contracting, purchasing, renewals, and governance.
The role combines global strategy with hands-on transformation across software, IT, professional services, travel, and other business-critical categories.
You will modernize procurement technology, strengthen spend visibility, and introduce automation and AI-driven approaches to improve efficiency and control.
Working closely with Finance, IT, Legal, Security, Operations, and executive leadership, you will connect procurement strategy to broader business objectives.
You will also lead the transformation of global Travel & Expense programs and develop scalable policies, processes, and performance frameworks.
This role offers significant influence over operational excellence, cost optimization, risk management, and the infrastructure supporting continued international growth.

Accountabilities
  • Develop and execute a global procurement strategy aligned with the needs of a rapidly scaling SaaS organization, covering software, IT, professional services, and other strategic categories.

  • Build and lead a global procurement operating model that establishes consistent sourcing practices, supplier standards, governance, and commercial processes while accommodating regional requirements.

  • Apply an AI-first approach to procurement, supplier risk, compliance, automation, and continuous operational improvement.

  • Own strategic supplier and software relationships, including supplier evaluation, sourcing, contract negotiations, renewals, performance management, and ongoing risk assessment.

  • Lead the implementation and optimization of procurement and spend-management technologies, including integrations with platforms such as NetSuite and Tipalti.

  • Transform the global Travel & Expense function, including policies, corporate card programs, technology, controls, and reporting.

  • Manage the complete procurement lifecycle from requisition and sourcing through supplier selection, negotiation, purchasing, implementation, renewals, and ongoing vendor management.

  • Establish and refine procurement policies, controls, and Procure-to-Pay processes, using automation to improve efficiency, compliance, transparency, and user experience.

  • Partner with Finance and executive leadership on procurement budgets, spend visibility, savings targets, financial planning, and cost-reduction initiatives.

  • Ensure procurement activities, SaaS agreements, software licensing, and supplier engagements comply with applicable legal, financial, regulatory, security, and internal requirements.

  • Develop procurement KPIs, dashboards, and reporting to monitor savings, supplier performance, cycle times, risks, and overall program effectiveness.

  • Collaborate across Finance, IT, Operations, Legal, Security, and business leadership to ensure procurement initiatives support scalable enterprise growth.

  • Build, lead, mentor, and develop globally distributed procurement teams while fostering strong engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field; an MBA or certifications such as CPM or CPSM are a plus.

  • 12+ years of progressive procurement leadership experience, including at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership position within SaaS, technology, or a comparable high-growth environment.

  • Demonstrated experience developing global procurement strategies, managing international spend, sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and overseeing vendor relationships across multiple regions.

  • Proven experience supporting high-growth technology organizations through IPO preparation and/or SOX readiness.

  • Strong knowledge of procurement technology and spend-management platforms, with experience using systems such as Tipalti and NetSuite.

  • Extensive experience transforming and managing global Travel & Expense programs and corporate card ecosystems.

  • Strong executive presence, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, with the ability to align senior stakeholders across multiple functions.

  • Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and mentor globally distributed teams while maintaining high engagement and effective performance.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to interpret procurement data, identify savings opportunities, negotiate commercial terms, and improve processes.

  • Exceptional attention to detail across contracts, software licensing, supplier risk, compliance requirements, and commercial agreements.

  • Ability to operate strategically while remaining comfortable working hands-on in an evolving, high-growth environment.

  • Strong understanding of information security and privacy requirements and the ability to work within established security and compliance policies.

Benefits
  • Senior leadership opportunity within a rapidly growing SaaS and technology environment.

  • Significant influence over global procurement strategy, technology modernization, supplier operations, and Travel & Expense transformation.

  • Opportunity to introduce AI, automation, and data-driven practices across the procurement function.

  • Cross-functional exposure to Finance, IT, Operations, Legal, Security, and executive leadership.

  • Opportunities for professional growth and learning through challenging, high-impact initiatives.

  • Dynamic, collaborative, and inclusive working environment.

  • Opportunity to build and scale global teams and establish modern procurement infrastructure.

  • Compensation and benefits are not specified in the provided job description and would be discussed during the hiring process.
