Job Description
Overview:
The successful candidate will exhibit leadership, collaboration and teamwork and will have the opportunity to progress in their career, with the goal of becoming a production supervisor.
Support the Production Supervisor overseeing the operation of the Valve Department (Automotive Valves) and staff in a given shift to produce products, which conform to part specifications, quality specifications, procedures and standards. Must be goal oriented and able to work to department/company KPI’s striving for excellence.

Specific Job Functions, But not Limited:
- Assist in enforcing company rules and regulations
- Assist in Set-up of machines and work centers
- Assist in make-up of work schedule; Direct and guide the schedule execution to support customer needs
- Assist in assigning work daily and move labor to operations necessary to support customer requirements
- Inspect tooling for damage or wear and promptly notify appropriate personnel
- Assist in maintaining data entry through labor reporting and material issuing to job orders
- Inspect production parts and record data per QS documentation for data retention
- Monitor job operation standards performance
- Assist in maintaining visual displays of work group activity goals
- Support/Assist/Lead Lean initiatives and are maintained and audited
Supervisor Responsibilities -
Time & Attendance:
- Understand the connection and interaction between Time & Attendance and Shop-Trak
- Review employee’s time records for accuracy
- Make corrections without breaking the Time & Attendance–Shop‑Trak link
Shop-Trak Application:
- Understand and be able to provide guidance on the transaction process your employees are required to follow (Both “Live Labor” and RTE Labor)
- Understand and be able to provide guidance on the transaction type available to your employees
- Understand you are Responsible and Accountable for WIP Moves: op-to-op moves and op-to-inventory moves
- Follow the process to review Hours, reported quantities, materials issued and make any required corrections prior to making a WIP Move and when to mark Operations “Complete” (SWI1504 Shop-Trak: Move Transactions)
Syteline (-ST Login):
- Review and fix Locked Employees
- Understand the life cycle of a transaction that gets started in the Shop-Trak application and when, where, and how you can interact and Edit transactions
- Review and correct Forgot to Punch Out Transactions, Active Transaction corrections
Syteline (User Login):
- Responsible and Accountable for Material Accuracy
- Responsible and Accountable for Labor Accuracy

- Job Order Closing
- Job Transaction Analytics
- Job Operations
- Job Materials
- Job Transactions
- Tools to review:
- Responsible and Accountable for marking Operation “Complete” once all reviews have been completed and validated as correct
You may assign others in your area (Assistant Supervisors, Line Leaders, etc) to complete these tasks. They then become Responsible and you are still Accountable.
Required Skills:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent – 2 year degree preferred (Technical)
Experience: 2 years minimum Production Experience
Computer skills: MS Office, Word, Excel. Will be required to learn to use Syteline (ERP system)
Background:
- Good mechanical aptitude and knowledge of basic mechanics and auxiliary equipment
- Ability to recognize issues and diagnose for quick resolution, maintain quality standards, and produce product per production schedules and deadlines.
- Good organizational skills and understanding of general LEAN manufacturing practices.
- Understanding of SPC and how to drive quality improvements from the data
- Familiar with finance/budgeting
- Familiar with OSHA requirements
Compensation: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour based on experience
