This is a senior leadership opportunity within a growing healthcare consulting organization focused on helping life sciences companies navigate complex market access challenges.
You will lead high-impact consulting engagements spanning payer, provider, and patient access, while helping clients address critical commercialization needs.
The role combines deep market access expertise with business development, strategic consulting, client relationship management, and team leadership.
You will help shape solutions across distribution, patient support services, reimbursement, contracting, pricing, and broader commercialization strategies.
As a senior member of the consulting leadership team, you will influence business growth while maintaining high standards for client delivery and team development.
You will work across functions and therapeutic areas, gaining exposure to the full drug development and commercialization lifecycle.
This role is suited to an experienced market access leader who can build trusted partnerships, identify new opportunities, and translate complex industry challenges into actionable strategies.
- Lead and deliver market access consulting engagements focused on solutions across the access continuum, including payer, provider, and patient considerations.
- Provide strategic and operational leadership across consulting projects, ensuring high-quality client deliverables, effective project execution, and strong business outcomes.
- Drive revenue and sales objectives through direct client engagement, business development, project leadership, and support for strategic sales activities.
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships by understanding evolving business challenges, identifying opportunities, and proactively proposing technical and strategic solutions.
- Develop new business opportunities through relationship building, industry knowledge, strategic consultation, and identification of emerging client needs.
- Serve as a senior leader within the consulting organization, helping shape business strategy, service development, execution priorities, and overall team direction.
- Collaborate across multiple business units to develop and execute integrated business strategies and client solutions.
- Provide expertise across market access and distribution, including specialty distribution, patient support services, group purchasing organization engagement, contracting, reimbursement, and commercialization.
- Support hiring, staffing, onboarding, and organizational development while helping build a strong and collaborative consulting culture.
- Coach, mentor, and develop consulting professionals through regular feedback, career planning, capability building, and hands-on guidance.
- Help identify opportunities to improve consulting processes, streamline team resources, and remove operational barriers that affect delivery.
- Stay current on healthcare market dynamics, client challenges, competitive developments, and industry trends to inform consulting strategy and business development.
- 8–10+ years of consulting or related experience, with significant expertise in market access, distribution, patient support services, and/or group purchasing organization engagement and contracting.
- Deep knowledge of the end-to-end drug development and commercialization lifecycle and the factors that influence market access strategy.
- Demonstrated expertise across market access, distribution, reimbursement, contracting, specialty distribution, and patient support services.
- Proven track record of revenue generation, business development, client growth, and establishing long-term strategic partnerships.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Economics, Business, or a related discipline preferred; a master’s or PhD in a relevant field is an advantage.
- Strong strategic consulting capabilities, with the ability to understand complex client challenges and develop practical, technically sound solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create compelling strategic and technical materials and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities, with the ability to provide clear direction, take accountability for outcomes, and serve as a role model for team performance and professionalism.
- Demonstrated experience coaching, mentoring, and developing consulting professionals, including providing constructive feedback and supporting career progression.
- Exceptional client relationship and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build credibility and trust with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong business development mindset, with enthusiasm for identifying opportunities, developing new ideas, and contributing to successful client pursuits.
- Ability to operate strategically while remaining engaged in project delivery, client management, business development, and team development.
- Strong understanding of market access industry drivers, competitive dynamics, client challenges, and evolving healthcare trends.
- Base salary range of $175,000–$265,000 USD, with actual compensation determined by factors such as experience, skills, training, certifications, location, and organizational needs.
