About This Position
Job Description:
The RN is accountable for utilizing the nursing process throughout the provision of patient/family care. The RN is responsible for delegating patient care tasks and for the supervision of other patient care staff. The RN is responsible for coordinating the care of patients and consulting other disciplines of the healthcare team as indicated. The RN functions collaboratively with the medical staff and the other disciplines to provide and enhance patient care. The RN adheres to all nursing policies and proactively strives to maintain and improve quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for facilitating patient care, anticipating patient care needs, individualizing patient care and adjusting or modifying the nursing plan of care as appropriate. The RN will possess and utilize effective technical skills for the provision of safe and appropriate care, which includes general post-op care, pharmacology knowledge, and assessment skills.
Responsibilities:
Maintains current licensure, annual competencies, BLS, ACLS, PALS as required.
Completes the patient admission documentation including problem-focused assessment, medical history, medication reconciliation, fall risk screening and patient teaching
Oral and written communication is clear and concise.
Exhibits the ability and initiative to prioritize patient care; initiating and revising care plans as needed
Prioritizes assignments and duties; completes work in a timely manner; prepares for physician rounds
Provides support and education in a professional manner that is well-received by team members and students
License & Certifications:
Missouri state RN licensure.
Basic Life Support (BLS).
Minimum one (1) year RN experience preferred.
Previous surgical experience preferred.
ACLS preferred within six (6) months of hire.
