Your Role as Charge Nurse:
1. Team Collaboration: Cultivate a positive and supportive atmosphere among staff, adhering to a strict policy of mutual respect and encouragement.
2. Shift Management: Complete the assignment form and schedule break times for each shift.
3. Physician Assistance: Provide support to physicians during rounds.
4. Staff Orientation: Assist in the orientation of new staff and agency personnel, ensuring they are well-versed in unit policies and requirements.
5. Leadership by Example: Support your team by leading through action—assist patients with personal needs and performing tasks alongside your team.
6. Productivity Oversight: Monitor team productivity, address any issues promptly, and ensure immediate corrective actions.
7. Patient and Family Relations: Address patient complaints and family concerns with empathy and professionalism.
8. Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to handle high-stress situations and make quick decisions.
