Position Summary

We’re looking for an experienced Intake Coordinator/Scheduler to join our Silver Spring team. In this vital role, you’ll be the first point of contact for new patients and referral partners—managing referrals, verifying insurance, scheduling visits, and coordinating care start dates to ensure a smooth, compassionate intake experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process new patient referrals quickly and accurately

  • Verify insurance and obtain authorizations

  • Coordinate start-of-care dates and patient visits

  • Schedule clinicians/caregivers based on skills and availability

  • Adjust schedules for last-minute changes or urgent needs

  • Communicate clearly with patients, families, physicians, and staff

  • Maintain accurate records in EMR and scheduling systems

Skills & Qualifications
  • 2+ years of home health intake or scheduling experience preferred

  • Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid, insurance verification, and authorizations

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities

  • Proficiency with EMR systems, scheduling software, and Microsoft Office

  • Team-oriented mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced office environment
