Job Description
Diakon Behavioral Health Services offers a range of counseling and behavioral services to children, teens, families and adult individuals. Services are provided through counseling centers in Mechanicsburg, Lewisburg, Montoursville, Williamsport, within several public-school buildings, Kennett Square, and Chester County. Specialized programs include family-based mental health services, provided in the community and in-home, addiction counseling, trauma-focused therapy and SPIN, a service designed to assist children and youths who have problematic sexual behaviors.
General Responsibilities:
- Responsible for developing and maintaining a professional and supportive relationship with clients, as well as providing specialized therapeutic interventions.
- Responsible for program coordination and clinical guidance to supervision of therapeutic staff.
- Collaborates with program supervisor to ensure that the program is operating efficiently and effectively.
- Provides specialized therapeutic interventions.
- Participates in orientation and training of new staff including training and support with charting software.
Education/Training: A master’s degree in social work, Psychology or related field required. A current LCSW, LMFT, or LPC preferred (Outpatient), at least two years’ experience in CASSP system program (Family Based/SPIN).
NOTE: A Bachelor’s degree with significant relevant experience and PA certification will be considered for the Drug and Alcohol program.
Experience: A minimum of one (1) year clinical supervisory experience normally required.
ADA: Ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, reach, and lift items weighing up to 25 lbs.; visual and auditory skills.

Diakon also maintains a discretionary emergency fund, which can be of assistance to staff members during critical times. In addition, Diakon offers a Love of Thy Neighbor Fund, which provides a per-day living expense and matches up to five PTO days for approved service or mission trips with other nonprofit organizations.
