About the Role:

The NYC Program Intern will play a vital role in supporting the development and execution of educational programs within our organization. This position is designed to provide hands-on experience in program coordination, community engagement, and educational outreach in an urban setting. The intern will collaborate closely with program managers to assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating initiatives that enhance learning opportunities for diverse populations. Through this role, the intern will gain valuable insight into the operational aspects of educational services and contribute meaningfully to the organization's mission. Ultimately, the intern will help ensure that programs run smoothly and effectively, positively impacting participants and stakeholders across New York City.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited college or university, preferably in education, social sciences, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous internship or volunteer experience in educational programming or community outreach.
  • Familiarity with data collection and analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of New York City’s educational landscape and community resources.
  • Bilingual abilities, particularly in Spanish or other languages commonly spoken in NYC communities.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the coordination and logistical planning of educational programs and events.
  • Support communication efforts by preparing materials, managing outreach, and engaging with community partners.
  • Collect and analyze data related to program participation and outcomes to inform continuous improvement.
  • Help maintain accurate records and documentation to ensure compliance with organizational standards.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to enhance program effectiveness and participant experience.

Skills:

The required skills, such as strong organizational abilities and effective communication, are essential for managing program logistics and engaging with diverse stakeholders daily. Proficiency in Microsoft Office enables the intern to create presentations, track data, and prepare reports that support program evaluation and decision-making.
