Job Description

Wright Manufacturing, Inc. (WMI), an award winning producer of commercial grade lawn equipment, is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Team Leader to join our second shift Inventory Control and Production Support Team in the Internal Logistics Department.

This role is responsible for ensuring the safe and effective execution of responsibilities assigned to the 2nd shift Internal Logistics Group (ILG); supporting the Team in prioritizing and fulfilling the needs of the Assembly Team daily.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position, earning overtime at time and one half for hours worked over 40 hours per week. Schedule is typically Monday through Friday 4:00 PM-12:30 AM. Employees on second shift enjoy a second shift pay differential of $2.10 per hour on top of their base hourly wages.

Occasional work on Saturdays may be needed as workflows dictate.

Primary Duties to include:

· Direct and assist all production line material handlers, providing back up as needed (scheduled PTO, call outs, etc.)

· Conduct daily team meetings and weekly safety talks

· Lead 2nd shift Inventory and Quality Control, escalating and investigating issues as necessary

o Product shortages, quality issues, QPR (Quality Problem Reporting) management, etc.

· Conduct RCA (Root Cause Analysis) to identify true cause of an issue, and take appropriate steps to develop an effective resolution

· Manage all actions and communications for product Deviations and ECOs

· Lead 2nd shift forklift needs (LP sit down, and electric stand up)

o Transferring and stocking home locations of any product needed for Production

o Waste Stream Management (cardboard baler/pallets)

o FIFO (First In First Out) Management

· Communicate with all applicable parties to resolve any issues that arise

· Maintain and enforce a focus on 5S (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain) efforts, ensuring a clean workplace

· Maintain and enforce a safe working environment according to standards

· Assist with special projects and rework as necessary

Additional General duties include:

· Develop productive and effective team relations through daily interaction, coaching, and guidance.

· Become Subject Matter Expert on all stations, processes and equipment within the Team

· Promote a culture of teamwork and quality communication within and between Teams

· Maintain trust and respect within the Team

· Develop collaborative relationship with other Team Leaders/Group Leaders

· Assist Group Leader to ensure proper employee rotation concepts (for ergonomic and coverage purposes)

· Communicate with Group Leaders on areas of concern, not able to be resolved at Team Leader level

· Assist Group Leader in ensuring timely and accurate completion of vacation schedules

· Develop and Maintain Job Instructions for all processes

Qualified candidates for the role of Team Leader Inventory Control should be able to demonstrate:

• Supervisory experience

• Experience driving forklifts, both sit down and stand up reach truck

• Strong communication skills. Bilingual a plus.

• Strong attention to detail

• Consistent work history

• Ability to work in an environment that is not climate controlled

• Ability to work in a moderate to high noise level environment

• Excellent attendance record

• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds without assistance

• Positive, team player attitude

• Strong, independent work ethic

• Good organizational skills

• Basic computer skills
