DevSecOps Automation Engineer in Columbia, Maryland at Cogent People Inc

Location: Remote/Hybrid if local to Maryland (MON & WED in the office)

Job Overview:

Cogent People Inc. is seeking a DevSecOps Automation Engineer to support a mission-critical large-scale system serving the Federal Government in the healthcare domain. The ideal candidate will be proficient in CI/CD tools and practices, configuration management (Ansible), and Linux operations.

Responsibilities:

· Create and maintain fully automated CI processes.

· Create, maintain, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines.

· Develop policies, standards, guidelines, and governance for CI/CD operations.

· Support developers with source control operations through build automation, merge resolution, test automation, and deployments.

· Configuration management across multiple environments on AWS.

· Support development teams with containerization, infrastructure, and deployments.

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

· 2+ years of direct experience with RedHat Ansible.

· 2+ years of direct experience with Jenkins and CI/CD processes and toolchain.

· 5+ years of experience with AWS.

· 2+ years of experience with Linux operations, including scripting.

· Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality and accurate work.

· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

· Proven ability to manage time and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

· Proven ability to work independently and as part of the team.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience in federal government programs or regulated environments (CMS experience is preferred).

· Relevant certifications (AWS, Ansible) are a plus.
