Vanderlande Logistics LLC is seeking a full‑time Supervisor to support our team at the Austin, Texas airport site. This role requires strong leadership, technical understanding, and the ability to manage a fast‑paced operations and maintenance environment.
Position OverviewThe Supervisor provides full shift oversight of an airport operations & maintenance contract, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable system performance. This role supports daily operations, leads technical staff, and serves as acting Site Manager when needed.
Key ResponsibilitiesOversee all shift activities for a busy international airport operation
Enforce and administer all safety regulations and safe work practices
Maintain full shift coverage and ensure employees remain on post and engaged
Communicate effectively with internal teams, airport partners, and stakeholders
Perform Site Manager duties during absences
Communicate operating philosophy, expectations, and objectives to technical staff
Conduct QA/QC checks on preventive maintenance and repair activities
Must be able to perform physical duties including lifting 50–100 lbs, bending, reaching, climbing, walking, crawling, standing, sitting, climbing stairs, speaking, and hearing.
Required Skills & EducationMinimum 3 years of experience supervising operational or mechanical teams
Working knowledge of maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and testing of Baggage Handling Systems
Strong leadership and communication skills in a high‑paced environment
Experience with scheduling, workflow management, and maintenance software
Excellent customer relations skills
Valid driver’s license with clean MVR
Associate/Technical Degree or equivalent industry experience
5+ years of overall experience
Ability to pass all airport background checks and security screenings
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship now or in the future)
Electro‑mechanical and electronics skills
Mechanical troubleshooting (belts, bearings, pulleys, drives, gearmotors)
Industrial electrical troubleshooting (480V 3‑phase, control circuits, VFDs, I/O systems)
Ability to read electrical schematics
Familiarity with PLCs, SCADA, servers, Ethernet/fiber networks, switches, and barcode systems
