Position Summary
The Operations Planning Manager owns the company’s demand forecasting, supply alignment, and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process—ensuring customer commitments, inventory strategies, and production capacity are aligned into a single, executable operating plan.
This role also plays a critical role in production planning and assembly coordination, ensuring data integrity, material readiness, and capacity alignment prior to release to the production floor. Operating at the intersection of Sales, Supply Chain, Project Management, and Manufacturing, this position serves as the connective tissue between strategic planning and day‑to‑day execution.

CompensationThe base pay range for this role is $120,000 – $150,000 per year.

Position Summary
The Operations Planning Manager owns the company’s demand forecasting, supply alignment, and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process—ensuring customer commitments, inventory strategies, and production capacity are aligned into a single, executable operating plan.
This role also plays a critical role in production planning and assembly coordination, ensuring data integrity, material readiness, and capacity alignment prior to release to the production floor. Operating at the intersection of Sales, Supply Chain, Project Management, and Manufacturing, this position serves as the connective tissue between strategic planning and day‑to‑day execution.
Key Responsibilities
Demand Planning & Integrated Business Planning (IBP)
- Own the rolling 12‑month demand forecast in partnership with Sales, Project Management, and Operations
- Analyze customer commitments, order history, backlog, and market signals to develop accurate, actionable demand plans
- Lead the full IBP cadence, including Demand Review, Supply Review, and Executive IBP meetings
- Facilitate monthly Demand Review meetings, ensuring inputs are complete, documented, and aligned
- Conduct scenario modeling to assess the impact of demand shifts, capacity constraints, and supply risks
- Track and report IBP KPIs, including forecast accuracy, inventory turns, on‑time delivery, and plan adherence
- Perform root‑cause analysis on forecast variances and execution gaps; drive continuous improvement
- Proactively communicate demand risks, trade‑offs, and opportunities to leadership and stakeholders
- Ensure planning assumptions, risks, and key decisions are clearly documented and communicated
Supply & Inventory Planning
- Translate approved demand plans into feasible supply and material plans
- Develop and maintain inventory strategies, including safety stock for critical and long‑lead components
- Monitor inventory health, including availability risk, excess and obsolete exposure, and turns
- Partner closely with Supply Chain to align material availability with production schedules and delivery commitments
Production Planning & Assembly Coordination
- Receive and review Project Manager notifications a minimum of two weeks prior to scheduled delivery
- Verify project WBS and assembly readiness in Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365)
- Track mechanical fabrication progress and confirm electrical component availability prior to assembly start
- Generate and release Assembly Travelers from project documentation in D365
- Assign assembly bays based on schedule and capacity; coordinate with Warehouse to initiate material pulls
- Manage facility‑level capacity planning, including coordination of maintenance and planned downtime
- Partner with Project Managers and the Production Data Specialist to resolve data or readiness issues impacting schedules
ERP Systems & Data Integrity
- Maintain accurate planning, BOM, and project data within Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365)
- Audit BOMs and material requirements to ensure accuracy for procurement and production decisions
- Identify and resolve data discrepancies in coordination with Operations and Project Management
Process Development & Continuous Improvement
- Help establish and document standardized planning and IBP processes as the function matures
- Identify opportunities to improve planning tools, data quality, and cross‑functional handoffs
- Drive efficiency and clarity between demand planning, supply planning, and production execution

Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in demand planning, supply planning, SI&OP / IBP, or production planning
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment
- Hands‑on experience with ERP / MRP systems
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365)
- Experience supporting engineered‑to‑order or custom manufacturing environments
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field
