Field Service Specialist
Summary/Objective
Provide overall technical support/repair for Mobile Climate Control's equipment, OEMs, installers, and
dealers.
Assignment-Tasks/Responsibilities
• Provide customer assistance and advice on complex service issues.
• Investigate and resolve technical field problems and recommend and /or initiate corrective
action.
• Perform repairs, field testing and analysis of failed components to assist engineering and
provide direct support to FSR and engineering in design parameters with regards to servicing
and maintenance of MCC products.
• Service Manager in determining modes of failure and root cause.
• Determine and /or assist in de mining liability in warranty equipment failures.
• Evaluate non-standard warranty claim requests and pre-approve/deny requests based upon
MCC's policies and procedures.
• Perform audits of equipment installations and repair procedures at dealer locations within
territory to ensure quality and proper application of the equipment.
• Conduct training, both in-house and in the field, on MCC products for new equipment and new
dealers.
Physical Demands
• Lift 20 pounds.
• Dexterity and hand-eye coordination, including the ability to grasp, manipulate and assemble
parts and component that are often very small.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision,
peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to
finger, handle or feel; reach with hands.
Required Education and Experience
• College degree in HVAC or refrigeration or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Refrigeration certifications.
• 5 years of experience in repairs on HVAC systems.
• Proficient on electrical systems, reading technical drawings and MS Office.
Preferred Education and Experience
• 5 years of experience in repairs on HVAC systems on transit buses.
