How You’ll Make an Impact:
The Quality Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring that the manufactured products meet customer and industry standards. This position involves managing certifications, resolving quality issues, and maintaining documentation in compliance with AS9100 and ISO9001 standards. The role requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and effective collaboration with cross-departmental teams to uphold quality standards.
What you’ll be doing as a Quality Specialist:
- Working a full-time, onsite position at our Chatsworth, CA location.
- Maintain the inspection stamp log, including assignment tracking and conducting annual audits.
- Manage vendor, material, and hardware certifications, configuring them into Certificates of Conformance.
- Handle AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports using CAD Software such as SolidWorks or similar tools.
- Understand and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and customer specifications to determine product requirements.
- Resolve non-conformance issues by collaborating with planning and other departments to determine next steps.
- Process and document Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMA), including investigation, disposition, rework, and reshipment.
- Ensure timely follow-up and resolution of open non-conformances, customer complaints, and RMAs in Quality Management System or similar systems.
- Generate and maintain quality documentation packages, including inspection records and certifications.
- Retrieve, review, and organize process and inspection documents for quality compliance.
- Ensure accuracy and currency of all documentation, including engineering revisions.
- Provide parts and documentation for source inspections as required.
- Assist with the upkeep of cleanliness and organization in compliance with 6S principles.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to delegate and oversee rework processes.
- Perform data entry, research processes, and find job locations in MRP/ERP systems.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications (Education, skills and experience):
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint).
- Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems (e.g., JobBoss, GlobalShop, etc.).
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, shop math, and GD&T.
- Basic knowledge and familiarity with customer purchase orders.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities.
- Proven ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
Preferred Qualifications (Education, skills and experience):
- Industry experience in aerospace manufacturing.
- Familiarity with AS9102 First Article Inspection Report processes.
- Experience using Blueprint Reading Software such as Q-Pulse, DISCUS or similar.
- Knowledge of CNC machining and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with customer interactions.
- Understanding of inspection techniques and certification codes.
- Familiarity with Quality Management Software such as Unipoint or similar.

The Quality Specialist Compensation range for onsite California applicants is $20 - $25 per hour commensurate with experience. Some shifts may include shift differential pay rates. Other site ranges may differ.
