What You’ll Do
Requirements: What We’re Looking For
Cypress Assisted Living is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Business Office Manager (BOM) to support our assisted living community in Anacortes, Washington. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate financial operations, resident billing, and regulatory compliance, while serving as a collaborative partner to leadership and support teams.
What You’ll Do
- Manage resident financial files related to admissions, billing, collections, and accounts receivable in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely billing for private pay, state agencies, Medicare, VA, and other payors
- Actively manage the collections process and resolve account discrepancies
- Maintain facility licenses and proof of insurance documentation
- Administer and reconcile resident trust accounts and petty cash
- Complete month-end close activities and prepare required financial reports
- Review payment policies with residents and responsible parties upon admission
- Document and maintain business office processes and procedures
- Support census tracking, cash receipts, deposits, and system updates
- When assigned, provide support or oversight to HR/Payroll designees and business office staff
- Partner with other Business Office Managers to ensure consistency and best practices across communities
Requirements: What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, or collections
- Prior office or administrative experience (healthcare or long-term care preferred)
- Experience in assisted living, skilled nursing, or senior care environments strongly preferred
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with residents, families, vendors, and leadership
- Supportive leadership and collaborative culture
