Purchasing Specialist in Spring, Texas at Zone Distribution

Job Summary: Purchasing Specialist is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services needed for company operations. This role works closely with vendors, internal departments, and inventory teams to ensure materials are purchased at the best value while meeting quality and delivery requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, service, and reliability
• Obtain and compare quotes from vendors
• Create and process purchase orders
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, payment terms
• Complete Vendor set up applications
• Maintain supplier relationships and resolve vendor issues
• Track orders and ensure timely delivery of materials
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation
• Collaborate with accounting, warehouse, and operations departments
• Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures
• Analyze purchasing data and identify cost-saving opportunities
• Any and all tasks assigned

• High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
• Experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or inventory management
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP/purchasing systems
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
• Ability to analyze pricing and vendor performance
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
• Experience with Epicor Prophet 21 is preferred
