The accounting assistant is responsible for accurately performing a variety of tasks and will work cooperatively with the accounting team to ensure responsibilities of the department are completed in an efficient and accurate manner to the benefit of supporting all other staff in serving families.
While there will be little involvement with our families, you will most likely occupy the same space from time to time, so a sense of decorum and professionalism is a must.?
Requirements:Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- AP entry in QuickBooks Online
- Review all invoices for accuracy and verify against packing slips
- Maintain vendor files, obtain W9 and update as needed
- Daily deposits
- Credit card transaction verification/coding
- Cash advance check printing
- Verify bills to cases in SRS and update SRS billing as needed to actual
- Bill Medical Examiner’s office for conveyances on a monthly basis
- Bill organ donation agencies as needed
- Track and audit cash box on a monthly basis
- Manage unclaimed property and report to the state of Wisconsin annually
- Backup for the Accounting mailbox
- Backup for 1099 reporting annually
- Other tasks and special projects as assigned by the Accounting Manager or management
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for long periods at a desk
- Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds; occasionally lifting and carrying reams of paper, files, bankers’ boxes, office supplies, etc.
- Ability to bend occasionally for filing
Software Knowledge:
- Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, QuickBooks Online
Years of Experience & Schooling Requirements:
- Associate degree in accounting or two years accounting experience
- Industry experience a plus
