Description:

Spring Valley USA (formerly Turf Care Supply), manufactures a variety of high quality, professional grade lawn care products including fertilizers, controlled release fertilizers, control products, combination products and soil amendments. We package our professional turf products under the GrowStar™ and TurfCare™ brand as well as manufacture products for private labels.

We sell our products through distributors who sell to professional lawn care companies, golf courses, sports fields, sod farms, and a variety of other customers in the green industry.

We operate eight manufacturing facilities in Hatfield, MA, Cleveland, TN, Catoosa, OK, Fostoria, OH, Greenville, TX, Jackson, WI, Longwood, FL and Sebring, FL. These locations enable us to provide our high quality products and outstanding service throughout the Northeast, Mid Central, Mid Atlantic and Southern markets.

Our Cleveland, TN facility has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Supervisor. This position oversees and manages maintenance personnel to maintain the manufacturing capabilities of the plant. Must be willing to pitch in and troubleshoot/repair equipment as needed. Daily goals directed toward improving operation safety, safety awareness, reducing operating costs, managing equipment and building maintenance projects not to exceed budget, preventative maintenance schedule and implementing new processing strategies and equipment. Scheduling and managing monthly preventative maintenance outages and management of capital investment projects and costs. Monitor and assist in environmental record keeping and maintenance of environmental programs. Institute and develop new operational protocols to improve plant operational function.

Specific duties include but not limited to:

Maintain a safe working environment and promote individual associate safety awareness and compliance

Manage the operation of the plant maintenance function to maintain the operation functionality and asset value of the facility.

Submit, implement and manage all plant maintenance outages and capital improvements, to include project timeline and costs.

Provide leadership and technical expertise to maintain calibration, investigate and correct machine deficiencies, including new devices or processes to enable production of products that meet quality assurance and regulatory standards at minimum cost.

Provide technical assistance to modify or improve the plant manufacturing process and material usage variances.

Monitor compliance with environmental laws and maintain environmental records

Develop new operational protocols as may become necessary for administrative or departmental functions to provide value added services.

Reduce repair and maintenance costs of keeping the plant operational

Reduce or eliminate production down time

Provide liability reduction by assuring compliance with the environmental laws, enforcing associate safety compliance, and development of protocols to assist the General Manager in complying with OSHA mandates.

Maintain effective use of manpower and replacement cost controls for facility maintenance departmental functions.

Job Requirements:

  • Associate degree or higher in technical discipline (Engineering)
  • Minimum 3 years experience in industrial or commercial construction or plant maintenance related management. Experience in a union facility preferred.
  • Understanding of purchasing and cost budgeting and accounting
  • Must be able to work additional hours as necessary and possibly weekends.
  • Industrial electrician license and welding certifications preferred
