TITLE: Maintenance Supervisor

DEPARTMENT: Maintenance

DEPARTMENT CODE: 605

LOCATION: Rockwood

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:

Interact with Management and maintenance personnel to provide cost effective technical and administrative leadership and supervision for all facility, process, and equipment preventative maintenance, repairs and upgrades to safely produce product that meets the Customer’s expectations at productivity levels that meet or exceed established plans. Devise, implement and maintain a professional atmosphere that ensures optimum Maintenance Department efficiency and promotes pride and continuous improvement of technical personnel.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Support production schedules through coordination and adherence to a formal preventive maintenance and ongoing equipment repair program.

2. Plans ahead and organizes work to complete tasks on schedule.

3. Directs maintenance activities to optimize the efficiency of the overall maintenance function, fully utilize all resources and promote continuous improvement in the capabilities, quality of work, and performance of maintenance personnel.

4. Associates are monitored and trained on performing tasks in a safe productive manner and are involved in planning, problem solving and decision making.

5. Work Order requirements are kept current, and all tasks are documented with appropriate detail for future referencing.

6. The need for repair and spare parts is communicated in a timely fashion to permit acquisition within a reasonable timeframe.

7. Maintain conformance to safety and environmental policies and procedures with primary focus on loss time accident prevention and reduce environmental impacts.

8. Provide project support for all segments of the organization project scheduling input is furnished allocating maintenance resources. Technical assistance is provided to achieve optimum results consistent with project goals.

9. Furnish assistance and services to the Administrative/Salary segment of the organization in workplace maintenance and work area movements, individual and department wide as required.

10. Full responsibility for all Building & Grounds upkeep via in-house personnel or outsourcing as required.

11. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum five (5) years’ experience in a maintenance function with proven ability to supervise and/or direct the maintenance function in a manufacturing environment.

• Professional interaction with all levels of personnel.

EDUCATION:

Associate or bachelor’s degree in applied science in Electronics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience.

When required in specific areas. This includes, but is not limited to safety glasses, with side shields, hearing protection, steel toed shoes and gloves for hot parts.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

This position experiences a wide range of conditions ranging from office and lab conditions to actual shop floor including exterior of facility.
