The Role

The Cancellation Specialist will be knowledgeable and professional in resolving customer cancellation requests, both residential and commercial. This also entails resolving issues and ensuring that customer service is always the top priority. The Cancellation Specialist is responsible for answering cancellation inquiries from all related departments including but not limited to Customer Experience, Technical Support, Sales, Accounting and/or Service Delivery.

This role is a 12 month contract.

What You’ll Do

  • Processing/handling cancellation requests for Residential and Commercial customers;

  • Processing/handling residential/commercial name changes and move orders;

  • Ensuring hardware is returned in a timely manner by the customer;

  • Applying non-returned hardware charges to accounts that apply;

  • Calculating and applying Early Termination Fees for commercial customers;

  • Co-ordinating Claw Back requests for commercial cancellations;

  • Completing inventory for returned hardware: Documenting hardware for quarterly inventory counts;

  • Ensuring all deactivation dates are submitted for both Billing Cycle 1 and 3 and confirming with the Finance Manager the billing run can proceed;

  • Co-ordinating with NOC Dispatch and GIS for physical disconnects;

  • Co-ordinating Off-Net Circuit cancellations with third party resellers;

  • Reviewing all submitted requests by CERs and ensure accuracy is adhered to, and reporting to management should coaching be required;

  • Back up support for CER’s when required.

  • All other duties as required.

What You Bring

  • 2-3 years of related experience in related role.

  • Experience with JIRA and SAP an asset.

  • Knowledge of VOIP, Internet and IPTV is considered an asset.

  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving capabilities.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to multi-task/prioritize work in a timely manner.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to work and act independently using good judgement when assessing difficult situations.

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience. The salary range indicated includes a Short Term Incentive Plan (“STIP”) which represents a percentage of your Base Salary based on the achievement of individual and corporate objectives; The STIP payment is calculated based on a formula that takes into account several factors, including, without limitation, corporate and individual performance measures. The STIP payment is conditional upon meeting all of the STIP’s eligibility requirements.
