Description:

The Senior HR Generalist is responsible for supporting day-to-day Human Resources operations within a fast-

paced union and non-union food manufacturing environment. This role partners closely with operations

leadership and employees to support employee relations, onboarding, investigations, policy administration,

compliance, leave management, performance management, and HR programs that support operational and

business objectives.

Reporting to the HR Director, this position serves as a key onsite HR resource for employees and leaders while

helping drive employee engagement, workforce stability, compliance, and continuous improvement across the

organization.

Role and Responsibilities

· Support daily Human Resources operations for hourly and salaried employees within union and non-

union environments.

· Serve as a primary HR contact for employees and supervisors regarding HR policies, procedures, benefits,

attendance, leaves, and employee relations matters.

· Conduct employee relations investigations and support corrective action, documentation, coaching, and

policy administration under supervision of HR Director.

· Partner with leadership to support performance management, employee development, engagement,

and retention initiatives.

· Support onboarding, orientation, and training activities for new hires and existing employees.

· Assist with recruitment activities including interviewing, hiring coordination, and onboarding processes

as needed.

· Support leave administration processes including FMLA, ADA accommodations, workers compensation,

and other leave related matters.

· Maintain HR records, reporting, and employee documentation in accordance with company policies and

legal requirements.

· Support payroll, benefits, and timekeeping processes through partnership with Payroll and operational

leadership.

· Assist with union related matters including grievance meetings, investigations, documentation, and labor

relation activities as needed.

· Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, company policies, food safety

requirements, and workplace standards.

· Participate in employee engagement initiatives, audits, compliance activities, and continuous

improvement efforts.

· Support HR projects, and reporting.

· Additional duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

· Involved in employee development, performance management, training, scheduling, and operational accountability

Requirements:

Preferred Qualifications and Education Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

· 3+ years of Human Resources experience within manufacturing or food manufacturing environments preferred.

· Experience supporting union and non-union workforces strongly preferred.

· Knowledge of employee relations, investigations, absence leaves, performance management, and employment law.

· Understanding FMLA, ADA, workers compensation, wage and hour laws, and HR best practices.

· Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.

· Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills.

· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems preferred.

· Bilingual English/Spanish required

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

The work environment includes both office and warehouse/production settings, including refrigerated areas and concrete flooring. This position requires the ability to:

· Work in refrigerated environments at temperatures around 38 degrees as needed.

· Walk and stand for extended periods throughout warehouse and production areas.

· Occasionally handle cold or wet products.

· Occasionally lift and move materials or products as needed.

· Visually inspect products, inventory, and warehouse operations.

· Sit for extended periods while performing administrative and reporting duties.

The salary range for this position is $60,000 – $75,000 annually. This range reflects our good faith estimate at the time of posting. Depending on experience and qualifications, we may offer compensation above this range.
