MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN JOB DESCRIPTION

Reports to: DQ Operations Leader or Owner's Appointee

Purpose Of Job

  • To create positive memories for all who touch DQ.
  • To ensure all of our Fans see a smiling crew and a clean store.
  • Understand the “why” behind everything we do is the Fan that we serve daily.
  • To support our Store Leaders in the maintenance, upkeep, and development of their facilities & equipment.
  • To ensure restaurant is operated within guidelines established by owner or franchisor.
  • To set high standards and create a great environment for the team to work, maintaining an appropriate store culture.

Target Goals

Complete Store Leader or Company Leadership's Requested Equipment Repair

  • 7 Calendar Days (Non-emergency)
  • 24 Hours (Emergency)

Complete Store Leader or Company Leadership's Requested Facility Repair

  • 7 Calendar Days (Non-emergency)
  • 24 Hours (Emergency)

Submit Daily Maintenance Reports

  • 1 Business Day

Submit Monthly/Bi-Monthly/Quarterly/Semi-Annual Maintenance Reports

  • 5 Calendar Days of Period End.

Transactional Spending Authority

  • Parts & Materials: $500
  • Amounts over this authority must be approved by DQ Operations Leader or Owner's Appointee.

Essential Functions Operations:

  • Perform maintenance, upkeep and development of facilities & equipment as requested by Store Leaders and Company Leadership.
  • Perform Monthly/Bi-Monthly/Quarterly/Semi-Annual maintenance as assigned by Store Leaders and Company Leadership.
  • Monitor and correct facility issues that could negatively impact the Fan Experience. (Building Repairs, Landscaping Issues, Overall Appearance, etc.)
  • This includes completing regular checks (interior and exterior) around the building monthly to identify the issues that need to be addressed.
  • Anticipate and correct potential problems with equipment.
  • Handle challenging situations with poise & professionalism.
  • Implement store strategies to improve operational effectiveness.
  • Strive for operational levels that meet or exceed the Fan's expectations in the areas of quality, service and atmosphere, creating value through an excellent experience and a fair price.
  • Maintain and regularly submit requested documentation of completed work at each location.

Fan Service:

  • Maintain facilities & equipment to a high level that allows the crew to build relationships with return or preferred patrons.

Team Member Leadership:

-Crew will look up to you as you work alongside them. This role brings with it Leadership requirements that you must adhere to.

  • Be mindful of what you say and do, as Crew will look to you as a role model.
  • Teach crew how to use and care for equipment when appropriate.
  • Encourage crew to follow Company procedures with equipment and food preparation.

-Communicate any critical crew information to the Store Leader for appropriate handling.

  • Allow the Store Leader to correct employee performance issue.

Health and Safety Standards:

  • Ensure that our facilities and equipment meet health, safety and sanitation requirements in accordance with federal, state and local standards.

Store Marketing & Public Relations:

  • Attract new Fans and increase restaurant sales by ensuring that our facilities are attractive and welcoming.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested by owner or owner's appointee.

Skills/Competencies Need:

  • Customer focus- ability to service the crew as your “customer” by maintaining their facility & equipment. This, in turn, serves the DQ Fan.
  • Teachable and coachable- ability and determination to learn from others, and to be constantly updating your knowledge as equipment and technology evolves.
  • Leadership skills- ability to communicate with crew and leadership to be a positive influence on them and their operation.
  • Organization and goal focus- must be highly organized and detail-oriented with the capability to coordinate and execute multiple maintenance projects simultaneously. Must be able to actively work to achieve and exceed set goals for the business. Must be self-motivated to initiate and complete projects in a timely manner. Must be able coordinate and manage a schedule to allow for work efficiency at each site.
  • Technical- proficiency with facility & equipment maintenance as well as computers & other technical devices. Possess and implement a general working knowledge of pumps, freezers and other related machines and set up and operate the equipment properly. Have a basic understanding of the equipment needed to assure proper product preparation.
  • Flexibility and adaptability- willingness to follow directions and a commitment to meet DQ standards in all you do.
  • Integrity- does the right thing even when no one is looking, honest, earns trust of others.

Work Conditions:

  • Must have ability to:
  • Perform under pressure in a high volume restaurant.
  • Work in and out of different temperature ranges.
  • Accommodate the needs of the crew working to produce our product.
  • Respond to emergency situations as needed.
  • Lift up to 150 pounds.
  • Safely operate a vehicle.
  • Safely operate power tools.
  • Work around nuts or other allergens.
