Service Worker in Bexley, Ohio at City of Bexley (OH)

This role's primary duties will include maintenance, cleaning, and general upkeep of Jeffrey Mansion. Duties include cleaning, vacuuming, light repairs, event set up, and other indoor duties as assigned.

Under the direction of the supervisor, services City grounds, facilities, parks, buildings, installations, and/or other City property, as assigned.

• Performs routine maintenance, upkeep, cleaning, and repairs of assigned grounds, facilities, parks, buildings, and/or other City property as assigned by supervisor

• Completes inspections of City property and makes routine repairs when necessary

• Assists with event set up and clean up as assigned, including furniture, barricades, equipment, waste receptacles, and other items as assigned.

• Assists with other projects and duties, as assigned

• High school graduate or GED
• 18 years of age or older
• Valid Ohio Drivers License with ability to be insured under the City's fleet policy
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
• Predictable and reliable attendance

• Basic maintenance procedures for assigned City property
• Basic mechanical troubleshooting

• Routine cleaning and upkeep tasks
• Routine inspections for maintenance and damage
• Identifying maintenance, cleanliness, or repair issues
• Reading and interpreting mechanical instructions, diagrams, safety rules, and reports

• Drive a City-owned vehicle to various locations
• Prioritize work and complete tasks independently
• Carry out instructions provided in written or oral format
• Write routine reports
• Speak effectively before residents or employees of the City
