Summary: The Part-Time Human Resources Generalist provides hands-on HR support across a variety of employee-facing and administrative functions while partnering closely with the Director of Human Resources and organizational leadership. This role serves as an accessible resource for employees and supervisors and assists with the day-to-day delivery of HR programs, processes, and initiatives.

The HR Generalist supports key areas including benefits administration, recruitment and onboarding, employee records, HRIS administration, employee relations, compliance, performance management, training initiatives, and general HR operations. The position will also provide important administrative and project support during periods of increased HR activity, including annual open enrollment, internship programming, job fairs, and other organizational initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Provide day-to-day HR support and respond to employee questions regarding policies, benefits, HR systems, and general employment matters.

· Assist with benefits administration and annual open enrollment, including employee communications, enrollment support, and data entry.

· Support recruitment, onboarding, orientation, and offboarding activities.

· Maintain accurate employee records and complete HRIS data entry and administrative updates.

· Assist with internship programs, job fairs, recruiting events, and other talent acquisition initiatives.

· Provide administrative and project support for the development and implementation of updated job descriptions, performance evaluations, organizational goals, and training initiatives.

· Support employee relations activities and help ensure HR policies and practices are applied consistently.

· Assist with leave administration, compliance documentation, and other HR recordkeeping requirements.

· Prepare employee communications, reports, spreadsheets, and other HR materials as needed.

· Provide employees with responsive, personalized HR support and escalate complex matters to the Director of Human Resources when appropriate.

· Maintain strict confidentiality regarding employee and organizational information.

· Perform additional HR-related duties and special projects as assigned.

· Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for this position. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential functions of the job satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation. · Education/Experience: 5+ years in a related role, such as HR Generalist, HR Administrator, Recruiter, etc.

· Communication Skills: Ability to read and interpret instructions, policies, and procedures, and communicate effectively in writing and verbally with employees and stakeholders. Effective communication, negotiation, and de-escalation skills are required.

· Technical/System Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including excel. Experience using an HRIS to maximize efficiency in an HR role. Knowledge of an ATS, Handshake, Linkedin, Etc Comfort working with AI tools, data, and performance metrics. Readiness to learn new systems.

· Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use standard office equipment as needed to perform job duties. Reasonable accommodations may be made.

· Work Environment: Professional office environment using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copiers. Ability to travel to job fairs at PA universities to support the Internship program. Ability to travel to Lancaster to attend work-related events, new employee orientations, fundraisers, and other important events.
