You will be responsible for developing reliable data pipelines, optimizing cloud-based infrastructure, and enabling teams to leverage high-quality data.
Working closely with analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders, you will translate complex requirements into effective technical solutions.
You will play a key role in advancing data architecture, governance, and analytics capabilities within a remote-first environment.
The position combines hands-on engineering with strategic problem-solving, giving you ownership over critical data platforms.
You will contribute to modernizing data operations while working with advanced cloud technologies and engineering practices.
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain robust data infrastructure while ensuring data reliability, scalability, and accessibility across the organization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver efficient data solutions and continuously improve the organization’s analytics capabilities.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure supporting data integration, processing, and storage.
- Collaborate with analysts and business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Build and optimize data models within Azure Synapse Analytics to support enterprise data warehousing initiatives.
- Develop and maintain ETL processes using Python scripting and other programming languages.
- Manage and optimize Apache Spark environments to support high-performance data processing workloads.
- Implement data governance, security, and quality practices to ensure accurate and reliable information.
- Use Azure DevOps to support continuous integration, continuous delivery, and agile development workflows.
- Ensure data integrity across platforms by monitoring performance, identifying issues, and implementing improvements.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions to enhance data infrastructure capabilities.
- Partner with engineering, analytics, and business teams to transform complex business requirements into effective technical designs.
- Stay current with advancements in Azure data services and modern data engineering practices.
The ideal candidate is an experienced data engineering professional with strong expertise in cloud platforms, data architecture, and scalable pipeline development. You should have excellent technical problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering roles focused on building and maintaining data pipelines and infrastructure.
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure DevOps, and Apache Spark.
- Advanced proficiency in Python scripting and experience with SQL and other programming languages such as Java.
- Strong knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and ETL pipeline development.
- Experience working with Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, and other Azure data services.
- Understanding of data governance, security, and quality assurance best practices.
- Ability to design technical solutions from ambiguous business requirements.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments.
- Competitive salary range of $130,000 - $165,000 annually.
- Eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus of up to 10%.
