Job Summary

GardenCore is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to work onsite in Quakertown, PA. The HR Generalist serves as a liaison between management and employees, aligning people with business requirements for skillsets and behaviors. Partnering with local management, regional staff, corporate staff and the VP/GM will be vital to the role. Administers and executes policies relating to all aspects of Human Resources including payroll practices and employee benefit programs.

Job Location

This is an onsite role located in Quakertown, PA.

Job Responsibilities

  • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
  • Administers all aspects of the employment of new personnel to include; recruiting, interviewing, background checks and drug screenings to fill vacant positions.
  • Plans and conducts new employee orientation and distribution of employee handbook and other pertinent new hire information.
  • Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pension plans personal transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews and terminations, along with employee statistics for government reporting.
  • Coordinates management training on matters of interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions performance review, safety and sexual harassment.
  • Advises management of appropriate resolutions to employee relations issues.
  • Responds to inquires regarding policies, procedures and programs as well as union contract compliance.
  • Oversees performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance and equity with the organization.
  • Manages salary program to ensure compliance and equity within organization.
  • Coordinates and executes all payroll processes.
  • Administers all employee benefits, retirement, insurance and employee assistance programs.
  • Investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance carriers.
  • Manages workers’ compensation program.
  • Works directly with outside vendors providing temporary labor.
  • Completes employment references.
  • Compiles employment data to prepare reports for government reporting.
  • Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job maybe assigned on a temporary or permanent basis.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, of four to ten years of related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in Human Resources Management.
  • PHR or SPHR certifications are preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, intercultural and communication skills, in-person and written.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals and government regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees and general public.
  • Able to coach employees and management through complex situations.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts.
  • Knowledge of government regulations and laws related to human resources functions.
  • The ability to work with databases, human resources information systems payroll systems, spreadsheet and word processing software. Experience working within Paylocity is a plus.
  • Highly self-motivated with extensive organizational capabilities.
  • Able to properly manage confidential information.
  • Willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time.

Compensation

  • Base Salary of $65,000-$72,000 per year
  • Paid Time Off - 80 hours per calendar year (pro-rated in first year)
