Job Description

Description:

Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator

Entry level — no research experience required!

Location: Shreveport, LA (medical office; some hybrid flexibility)

Type: Full-time · Non-exempt · Entry level

Start a career in clinical research — we’ll train you

Are you a scribe, medical assistant, phlebotomist, tech, or recent science grad who’s careful with details and wants more than your current role offers? You don’t need clinical research experience to start in this position. At SAON, we hire people with the right instincts — precision, reliability, and a genuine interest in doing things the right way — and we teach them the rest. This is an entry-level role with a defined path to Clinical Research Coordinator, including company-paid certification.

SAON is a clinical research network with 80+ years of research leadership and 100+ completed studies, helping bring new medical technologies safely to the patients who need them.

What you’ll actually do

  • Help screen and identify potential study participants through medical-record review.
  • Support participant visits — collecting and processing samples, administering questionnaires, and recording study data accurately.
  • Assist with informed consent under the supervision of a Coordinator or Director.
  • Enter data and resolve queries in electronic data capture (EDC) systems.
  • Help prepare and maintain regulatory documents and the Trial Master File.
  • Process, label, and ship study specimens per protocol; keep supplies stocked.
  • Learn and apply Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and IRB requirements — we’ll teach you these.

What we’re looking for (this matters more than a résumé)

  • Meticulous attention to detail — you double-check your work and it bothers you when something’s off.
  • Reliability and follow-through — you finish what you start and things don’t fall through the cracks with you.
  • Coachability — you take feedback well and want to get better.
  • Calm, clear communication — you can put an anxious patient at ease.
  • Comfort with computers, tablets, and documentation — Microsoft Office; EMR/PACS familiarity is a plus.
  • Positive and Personable – interested in working with both physicians and patients

Why SAON

  • On-the-job training and a real path from Assistant CRC to Clinical Research Coordinator.
  • Company-sponsored professional certification (ACRP-CP / CCRC track).
  • Predictable weekday schedule — a change of pace from bedside or floor roles.

Benefits & Perks

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Employer-paid basic life and AD&D insurance
  • Employer-paid short-term and long-term disability coverage
  • Voluntary supplemental life insurance options
  • 401(k) retirement plan with automatic enrollment
  • Paid vacation and sick time
  • 7.5 paid company holidays
  • 2 floating holidays annually after 90 days of employment
  • Access to select domestic network healthcare services at no cost
  • Medical, dental, and vision benefits start 1st of the month following 30 days of employment
Requirements:

Education & experience

  • Associate degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in a science or health-related field.
  • About 1 year in a clinical, healthcare, laboratory, or health-support setting — roles like scribe, MA, CNA, phlebotomist, tech, or unit clerk all count.
  • No prior clinical research experience required — we provide the training and sponsor your certification.

Work Authorization: Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future. SAON is not able to provide employment visa sponsorship for this position.
