Job Description

Description:

Clinical Trials Manager

Lead the team that runs our clinical research

Location: Shreveport, LA (standard medical office; some local travel)

Type: Full-time · Exempt · Reports to Principal/President

Who it's for: Experienced clinical research professionals ready to step into leadership

Ready to lead?

You've spent years as a clinical research coordinator or research lead. You know GCP, regulatory, study start-up, and data quality inside and out. Now put that expertise to work leading a team. As SAON's Clinical Trials Manager, you'll set the standard, mentor coordinators, own research quality, and guide our spine device trials from start-up through close — multiplying your impact across the whole site.

SAON is an international clinical research network with 80+ years of research leadership and 100+ completed studies. This is the operational and quality leadership seat at our Shreveport site.

What you'll do

  • Lead, mentor, and set standards for a team of clinical research coordinators and assistants.
  • Own research quality — protocol compliance, data and documentation integrity, and audit and sponsor-visit readiness.
  • Own the adverse-event reporting process end to end, coordinating causality and reporting with the Principal Investigator.
  • Drive study start-up: feasibility, regulatory/eReg, protocols, and CTMS build.
  • Serve as the research liaison to investigators, sponsors, and device partners.
  • Coordinate the research-related work of imaging and clinic staff and keep studies on timeline, on budget, and on quality.

What we're looking for

  • Deep clinical research expertise — GCP, ICH, regulatory, start-up, and data quality you can teach.
  • Leadership through influence — you can move a team through credibility, clear standards, and trust, not just a title. (This role guides staff whose reporting lines may sit elsewhere.)
  • Ownership — you run studies to timeline, budget, and quality, and you hold the line on compliance.
  • Strong communication and collaboration — with coordinators, investigators, sponsors, and other departments.
  • A developer of people — you like raising the whole team's game, not just doing the work yourself.
  • Comfort with computers, tablets, and contemporaneous documentation — Microsoft Office; EMR/PACS familiarity

Why SAON

  • We train you on research and sponsor your professional certification.
  • A leadership role with real ownership and a clinical mission that matters.
  • Predictable weekday schedule — a change of pace from full-time clinical practice.

Benefits & Perks

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Employer-paid basic life and AD&D insurance
  • Employer-paid short-term and long-term disability coverage
  • Voluntary supplemental life insurance options
  • 401(k) retirement plan with automatic enrollment
  • Paid vacation and sick leave
  • 7.5 paid company holidays
  • 2 floating holidays annually after 90 days of employment
  • Access to select domestic network healthcare services at no cost
  • Medical, dental, and vision benefits start 1st of the month following 30 days of employment
Requirements:

Education & Experience

  • Required: 5+ years of clinical research with progressive responsibility; CCRC, ACRP (CCRP), or equivalent certification.
  • Preferred: prior team-lead/mentoring experience; device (IDE) and/or spine/orthopedic research experience.

Work Authorization: Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future. SAON is not able to provide employment visa sponsorship for this position.
