This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Consultant, Enterprise Legal Management - Project Lead based in Canada.
This role offers the opportunity to lead complex legal technology initiatives for corporate legal departments and help clients modernize how they manage legal operations.
You will serve as a client-facing project lead, guiding engagements from discovery and requirements gathering through implementation, deployment, and optimization.
The position combines legal technology expertise, project management, business process analysis, and technology consulting.
You will translate business needs into practical technical solutions that improve efficiency, data management, risk mitigation, and cost control.
Working closely with clients, technology providers, and internal teams, you will lead workstreams and ensure successful delivery across complex transformation projects.
You will also contribute to change management, testing, documentation, training, and the ongoing improvement of legal technology environments.

- Lead complex enterprise legal technology projects and workstreams from discovery and assessment through requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, deployment, change management, and post-launch optimization.
- Facilitate client business process reviews, identify key requirements, and translate business needs into clear technical requirements and solution designs.
- Develop and maintain project deliverables, including process documentation, findings and recommendations, functional and technical design documents, data maps, test scripts, training plans, communication materials, and user guides.
- Configure and develop legal technology solutions in alignment with approved requirements, designs, and implementation methodologies.
- Coordinate system testing, document and track defects, and collaborate with clients and technology vendors to resolve issues and maintain delivery quality.
- Manage project scope, schedules, workplans, timelines, resources, budgets, and financial considerations across multiple initiatives.
- Act as a trusted client advisor, managing expectations, communicating progress, addressing challenges, and building strong long-term relationships.
- Lead requirements gathering and analysis while applying legal technology best practices to system selection, implementation, optimization, and transformation initiatives.
- Develop expertise in the specific legal technology platforms supporting active client engagements and apply that knowledge to project delivery.
- Monitor legal industry and technology trends, including emerging technologies, product developments, best practices, and practical applications of AI.
- Contribute to business development activities, including proposals, presentations, workplans, solution concepts, and client-facing materials.
- Provide guidance and support to junior and senior team members while fostering consistent methodologies, operational efficiency, and high-quality client deliverables.
- Identify opportunities to improve consulting methodologies, project delivery practices, and the broader capabilities of the legal technology team.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of relevant experience in legal technology, consulting, an in-house legal department, law firm, legal software provider, or a related environment.
- 7+ years of experience contributing to legal technology assessments, requirements gathering, system design, configuration, implementation, testing, and deployment.
- Demonstrated experience with Enterprise Legal Management and related solutions, including eBilling, Matter Management, Legal Hold, and Legal Workflow technologies.
- Experience with platforms such as TeamConnect or CounselLink is preferred, along with exposure to WK T360, Onit/SimpleLegal, Litify, Legal Tracker, Brightflag, doeLegal, or comparable legal technology systems.
- Experience managing data migration and integration workstreams associated with legal technology implementations.
- Proven track record leading complex legal technology projects or major workstreams from discovery through implementation, testing, deployment, and post-launch optimization.
- Strong project management capabilities, including experience managing tasks, resources, schedules, scope, and financial considerations throughout technology implementation projects.
- Four-year degree in Finance, Business, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Science, Economics, Statistics, Accounting, Data & Analytics, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- Strong understanding of technology implementation lifecycles, including requirements analysis, solution design, configuration and development, data migration, testing, deployment, and change management.
- Strong analytical, numerical reasoning, business acumen, problem-solving, observational, and leadership skills, with proficiency in process mapping.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and storytelling skills, combined with a strong client-service orientation.
- Exceptional organization and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities while maintaining high standards for deliverables.
- Collaborative and proactive approach, with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and independently develop client-ready deliverables.
- Positive, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to quickly learn new technologies, develop subject-matter expertise, and adapt to evolving client requirements.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio, along with familiarity with Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate complex technical and business concepts clearly to clients and stakeholders at different levels.
